I generally put Reverb on a return track and try to glue it in with my mix. I'll add vocal shots and support pads/synths there. I avoid too much reverb because it takes up a lot of head space. Yep I don't put too much reverb on my leads as it drowns the "lead" , which you want people to hear/focus on. It does make the sound big but leads generally have many notes/ ever changing sounds which gets lost a in a big room reverb. This is just personal experience I've noticed.
@gaatjeniksaan94852 жыл бұрын
In hardstyle they use a gated reverb on the leads. You get a big sound, but lead doesn't drown in reverb.

When I started making music I always thought less is more in most cases when it comes to layering leads for example, recently been paying more attention on the soundselection at the start to begin with, seems to make layering easier :D Good stuff as always man

what headphones are you using? been looking for some not to replace my HS8's but something that is good for on the go production like traveling or just maybe I don't want to sit in my studio late at night and cause a bunch of noise.

One more time " less is more ". thank you for another dope tutorial Zen brother. after this tutorial I went back and fixed the awful side chains on my leads,🤣 I m back to leave a comment. I guess the best way to learn is to apply it immediately. I also wish other plugins had this built-in DUCKING fader like FF Timeless. it really saves time instead of setting it up manually. Duck and EQ should be on every FX plugin hope I m not asking a lot lol

Hey zen quick question. What is the difference from using lfo tool and just creating the same lfo shape in serum and Appling it the volume or cut off filter?
@Mopark252 жыл бұрын
No difference at all. Just make sure your LFO is set to 1/4.

Thing with using serum is that you don't have the customization such as trigger from midi/audio for sidechaining to rhythms that go beyond 1/4, 1/8 etc, dry/wet control to soften the effect, applying the plugin on to a bus/group. But if you're sticking with normal rhythm then yes that's fine.
