Buldak is typically MUCH more red than this. I have a feeling that maybe they didn't drain the water before adding the spice packet? It would still be pretty spicy, but not nearly as much as if the water was drained. Could just be the camera making it look less red, too.

Why do westerners drain the broth from the noodles?
@thecrazyhobo
@thecrazyhobo 11 ай бұрын
@@CyborgRowlet It's on the directions of the packages of Buldak. Not all noodles have broth. Buldak is a dry no-broth noodle that comes with its own sauce. You can leave a small amount of water in it, but it's meant to be eaten dry. If your Buldak is soupy, then you're making it wrong. I've never heard of westerners draining the broth from noodles that use broth - and I'm a westerner. I'm guessing this is a stereotype about us in your area. It's not true, though.
@fordhouse8b
@fordhouse8b 11 ай бұрын
@@CyborgRowlet These are Korean noodles, and the directions for this particular noodle dish calls for keeping only about half a cup (or a bit over 1 deciliter) of the water you cooked the noodles in. Why do Easterners form Korea drain the broth from the noodles? Because that is what this dish calls for. Buldak hot chicken noodles is not a soup.

My husband often buys Buldak noodles from our local China/Asia market. While I wouldn't touch that stuff even with a long stick, he apparently enjoys it even though he is sweating profusely afterwards. 😂 I was brought up in a household where mostly salt, pepper and Provence herbs were used, so I'm extremely sensitive to spices. (As a reference, I only got the chance to taste garlic when I was already legally an adult 😅🧄)

I’m not keen on Ramen noodles but I adore very hot spicy Indian foods! I’m English but live in northern Portugal, and I make a very hot lemon pickle with many spices, by “cooking” it all together for a couple of months in a big glass jar on my balcony in full sun! 😅Blows your head off but is so good with my homemade curries! 😋

Don't get Ramen Noodles wrong. Ramen is as good as what you put in it. That stuff is for teens and other such nonsensical minds and is crap. Try Shin Ramen with an egg, onion and green veggies. Bacon is my personal fav... but Always at least an egg.
@kanaric
@kanaric Жыл бұрын
IMO this brand is better than Shin but this 2x spicy ramen in particular you need to mix with other stuff like an egg. It is not as overpowering if you mix it with something. Their curry, cheese, pork, etc ramen are better though than the 2x spicy.

@@kanaric Yes, the noodles themselves are noticeably better from this brand than from Shin Ramyun. Ottogi also makes some good noodles. Notice I am just talking about the actual noodles in the packet, not necessarily the overall finished dish. You can get plain noodle packets from Ottogi, without any seasoning, dehydrated veggies, or sauce packets. I often use two packets of Buldak noodles (or any other instant noodle) and combine it with the seasonings and sauce, etc, from only one of them, together with whatever other seasonings, aromatics, meats, vegetables, eggs , etc, I feel like, or have on hand.
