Thinking back, I remember when there was a time I thought to myself, "Okay, I have been doing this scholarship webinar since 2019, and maybe it's time I stop because, truth be told, there are some downtimes".
Then, out of the blue, my phone rang; it was one of my mentees; she was screaming at the end of the other line. I was trying to make out what she was saying, and then what followed was tears of joy accompanied by many prayers. Then she said, "𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐨 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡. 𝐈 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐡𝐃 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭".
I responded, “You're welcome,” and told her I was contemplating not hosting any more webinars that season. She said, “Please, if not for any reason other than her proof that this information given out is valuable and life-changing," She asked that we should not stop helping people because she is living proof that it works. I know other people who have gotten scholarships via the mentoring sessions, but that call was impeccably timely.
Commonwealth Scholarships will soon open, and as always, my colleagues and I are happy to help you through this journey.
