Yup, happened to me someone was reporting my listings even though I wasn't doing anything wrong I would talk to eBay but they weren't much help eventually they permanently suspended my account luckily I have a backup account but haven't really got back into it

I agree! You might consider changing your EB store name and never give it out. You can use your old name (or similar) and just list a few key items on a small, free EBay account. I’ve noticed several other KZbinr’s doing this. It only takes a couple complaints to give you headaches. There are many spoilsports out there. Good luck and keep fighting the good fight, Kevin. The biggest issue with relisting the matches is that it doesnt really matter what the people said on the phone, you can get another strike on it again. Ebay doesnt communicate even with itself and as a 20+ year seller on EBAY its pretty terrifying you can get banned for life in a heart beat. I have thought about quiting and going full time many times but the threat of EBAY randomly banning me out of nowhere makes me stay at my job.

Preach it Kevin. We had a listing taken down for the first time a couple days. They removed a Pokémon toy because they said it was recalled, but there’s numerous still listed by other sellers. We had large lot of them and had one left which was removed. The inconsistency and not siding with sellers when justified is getting tiring.

I agree with you about the government regulations. None of these laws are ever passed with the concern of the little guy in mind, no matter how subversively they try and rationalize the concepts. More and more there seems to be a concerted attack on small business owners of all sorts, especially over in Canada in the name of "climate regulations". So it usually does come in a slow creep. You bring up a good point about shoplifting basically becoming decriminalized. It's almost a form of anarcho-tyranny where all the rights and concerns go to the criminal while the government takes the boot to the law abiding citizens.

I just had a similar issue with the negative feedback. I try to list my items as thoroughly and as correctly as possible and I'm very or probably overly cautious when listing to protect myself. Someone bought vtg EXPIRED Polaroid film that clearly stated it and shown this was an open package in pictures and in the description. A month goes by and they complained because the film was expired and didn't develop correctly. Smh. It clearly stated in title and multiple times in description. Smh.

I’ve seen people who record the whole process of packing a jewelry item including showing the purity stamps and makers marks, because of how much people got away with chargeback scams. And once they told eBay that they’d filed a police (or FBI) report for theft, they were given the option by eBay to attach a video file. They then attached the entire video of them putting the item in the jewelry box, putting the jewelry box in the shipping box, taping it up, and addressing it. Only then did eBay honor the “seller protection”. You have to threaten them with law enforcement I guess. They’ve already been big time sued and some of the CEO’s were jailed.

My boring reseller life had this happen to him a lot recently. What he noticed the similarities of the ones being taken down were items that have the logo of a brand but then the maker of the hat or item is unbranded. So he had Budweiser hats shirts that were promo items but the maker of the items were different or unbranded. It doesn’t mean they are counterfeit or fake. The new Ai system is very flawed. But it could be many reasons.

Kevin I think they have tinkered with the bots and are trying to catch more items that are not allowed. I was trying to list a pair of goggles that were military issue. They said no. But I have sold them before but eBay now says no. I'm in VA beach so I find a lot of them.

Very well said throughout the entire video! I hope you do voice your concerns in your meeting, and I agree 100%. Also, I had a day where 8 of my listings were remove for violated the alcohol policy…. They were mini brothel/ranch decanters from Vegas. It started in the title and the description the decanters were empty, so I called. They were very nice and also puzzled as to why they were flagged. They said they put a note in my account to allow the listings. It’s their bots with a combination of employees who just don’t know what they are doing.

Yes but the problem is not just with ebay. A bunch of way they are dealing with is new. (First Sales tax, then 1099, then Inform consumer) All of these things are huge money pits that ebay never had to deal with before.

Agreed Kevin, my listings on Facebook marketplace have been flagged as well for numerous issues like selling pets when I am selling a dog crate or a restricted item like a house safe. I always fight the flagging and have won for now. I even get warnings that my account my be disabled due to marketplace behavior. The AI needs to be recalibrated

I’ve recently had an issue with eBay over a buyer making a false claim where they broke the item and when I told eBay I could send them proof they said they can’t take it and just refunded the buyer the 326 dollars. I asked what they do to protect the sellers and they had no answer. I then asked them what stops a person from buying a 1000 dollar video like Rule of Rose on ps2 getting the item and putting a damaged copy of the game in the case and saying it was damaged when received and sending it back. They said there is no protection for that happening and they can’t side with the buyer or seller yet they do side with the buyer and the seller is now out 1000 dollars. It’s just crazy eBay doesn’t wanna really protect the sellers who make eBay because with sellers there is no eBay. I really hope you get this fixed and they start to actually do their jobs and investigate these matters.

I agree completely. Just look at resellers picking up pallets with returns that are broken or not the same item. My wife bought a air fryer and in it was a goodwill air fryer not the same item. How can this happen? Thats stealing yet target takes it back no questions asked. Stealing is so common now so i guess we have no more morals anymore as a society.

I had ebay remove some steel snap style mouse traps I had listed because they did not follow the "hazardous materials policy," and did not have an EPA number listed. I called and explained that the EPA does not regulate snap traps and therefore there isn't a number- the rep I had couldn't understand the issue and was of no help.

From what I have watched from vintage matchbook sellers , they don’t sell matchbooks with marches in them period because it’s against USPS policies so they do not sell due to hazardous materials , That’s been a policy for years , even auction houses won’t sell matchbooks with matches in them if being shipped . It’s one of those cases that you got caught while others have them listed and the bot hasn’t gotten them

Thankfully, I had a receipt from the store I purchase it from to show that it was indeed authentic. The other items I wasn’t able to relist. But it seems like once I showed them the receipt, they kind of let go of my account and left me alone.

They took an item of mine down that had just sold a week before for $99. I sent an email to Ebay business and said why my listing and the other person with the exact same item was fine. The person did not want to hear it. She just said not to relist it. I figured out what happened. I'm pretty positive. I use international shipping in order to sell to other countries. I feel one of the countries complained because that item was not allowed there due to their culture. The person who sold the same item probably did not have international shipping.

Im currently dealing with Ebay w/ ongoing issue. I list an item, a few weeks they say its a forbidden item, I file an appeal, they say sorry, they made a mistake, and they allow me to relist the item, then after a few more weeks, they remove the same item again saying its against ebay policy. This reminds me of a NIKON camera lens I was trying to sell. Ebay took it down and told me the reason was because I offered shipping to Europe. They said I could relist it as long as I did not offer to ship it to Europe. Apparently I do not have the rights to sell it in Europe, but it is OK within USA.

Could not agree more. Had my worst fourth quarter ever last year due to what I feel was a hidden “jail”. I had multiple listing last taken down at once and then my sales went into the toilet for almost two months. One was for HP ink where I used eBays own catalog pictures and item details. I learned my lesson on that one: always take your own pictures. Always. Another was some Simplisafe smoke alarms that I bought direct from the company but then never installed. Both of these were claimed to be counterfeit. I fought the Simplisafe one but you get ZERO communication and this feel have no recourse like you said.

They did it to me too on Friday. Holding funds. I had a sculpture break in shipping and they guy went berserk. I sold a big ticket jewelry item and had to cancel the item because buyers address was a PO. And someone made a mistake purchasing and wanted to cancel. So ebay has my funds on hold but I can still sell. Well I’m not going to sell while they “review” my account. I put my store on vacation while they decide to figure this out. I’ve been a seller since ebay was invented and full time seller the last 4 years.

I sold 300k on Amazon and on my first offense, got permanently deactivated. They flagged an item that I had listed, but never sold a single unit of as "mislabeled brand name", it was misspelled by 1 letter. After countless calls and appeals, I gave up. It cost me $9000 for Amazon to ship my items from their warehouses back to me. Worst experience of my life.

Just had a listing removed yesterday. A natural nontoxic plant spray to deter mosquitoes. It's made with garlic and sugar. Literally states it's exempt from EPA regulations. Well eBay requires all pesticides to have EPA registration and therefore any product that is exempt, is not allowed on eBay.

When I said something to ebay for business about making their 'bots' hold all Sellers accountable for prohibited or restricted items they told me... 'We want to provide some context that we do have teams of actual human representatives that are trained to verify numerous things in a listing' I honestly think that Sellers who complain about things either through messaging ebay for business or commenting on their posts are put on the 'problem seller list'

Check with the post office and they will not allow matches to go thru the mail period. Something nutty is going on for sure.

I've had several things taken down for unfathomable reasons. I listed unopened packages of tubing for cpap machine, which you can buy over the counter at walgreens, picked out one of the many other listings of the same thing, and clicked on "Sell one like this" and two days later the listing was taken down because they said it was a prescription item. I received a notification that a listing was taken down for copyright infringement (which was in itself silly) and the item wasn't even listed, because it had sold quite a while before. Just silly things. Somebody needs to teach these bots a little better.

Kevin Unplugged - this is one of my favourite videos of yours because it's raw truth spoken eloquently (I'm nowhere near as polished as a speaker). I too would like to be a part of the solution if ebay were open to it - they really need to start actually listening to us sellers. I just want to resell and when I feel like that is being threatened unjustly my claws come out, especially when 98% of resellers are good honest people but punishments can be levied that don't suite the perceived crime. I kinda owe you an apology as I used to think you had some sort of deal with ebay months back when some of your videos seemed like public announcements when there was clearly something going on behind the scenes. And if these timeouts, counterfeit claims and payment holds without any explanation can happen to you then can happen to anyone which is why every sellers needs to pay attention to what is going on, voice their opinion that can create change that is win win for ebay, buyers and sellers. I wish most of us would come together and make our own demands and take down our items as a recourse if they don’t follow our demands. If someone is reporting all your items and eBay sees that and is still taking your listings down and suspending you is absolutely ridiculous. They need to review your account and see if it’s one person reporting your listings and handle that.

I am done with Ebay and their actions. I since started selling on Bonanza platform. Looking for other alternative to ebay stores due to things going on.

Another issue is Ebay's use of bots and AI for customer support. I had 2 negs, one caused by the USPS losing an item and the other by damaging an item. Ebay's and FB for Biz messaging refused to remove both. I finally got on removed but not the other. The default is now DENY and copy paste template. Disgusting. Can't even talk to a human being anymore.

I haven't listed a fresh item on ebay in over a month. Only relisted items that haven't sold yet, some of which are a few years and about ready to toss. I don't think I am putting any new items on ebay from this point on. As soon as my relists crap out I'm wiping my hands of these clowns.

Ebay needs to update their listing tool. I have movies pulled now and again and it’s always one of those cases where you see 109 others up when you comp it so you buy and list it and then eBay slaps you on the hand. The listing tool should have the power to recognize items they don’t want you to list. Then if you finesse something’s title and information to get around it sure ban someone for 3 days. The way it is now is like playing hop scotch in a minefield.

@@commonwealthflipper in my cases I have listed with the legit upc for the items. They however have a unpublished list of media that gets pulled when the bots find it. I guess what I would like from the listing too is you scan or type in the upc and it says this goes against our community guidelines and can not be sold. I know it sounds like I am selling terrible stuff but most that have had this happen are cheesy old horror movies that may not be in the best taste but are legal to sell. eBay needs to invest in local people who one could go talk face to face with. Not for small things but say after two suspensions and if both sides were satisfied maybe they could rollback the offenses on the account.

The bots have your number now. They had mine a few months ago for something stupid they said I did. I couldn't even list a Halloween mask for awhile because they decided it was "medical supplies" and I was price gouging for it. Ridiculous.

I got a suspension for listing the vape batteries, but they had no nicotine, or anything, it was just the base or starter pack, whatever you want to call it, but I got suspended over it! But, I have noticed lots of changes they're making!

eBay took down 3 of my jewelry listings. - they claimed the listings didn’t comply with their fine jewelry policy All 3 items were made from precious metals silver and gold. The stones were CZ and that was their claim that is what fashion jewelry I read their policy and the listings were compliant The bots will ruin the small sellers

@clutterbuster8042 I’m a new reseller and I’ve learned so much from you and several other long time resellers. I really appreciate all y’all “training”. One thing I have trouble with is pricing!! When I can’t find a comp on eBay do you have a good method to be fair but also not leave a ton on the table? In regards to your opinion in todays post it reminded 28:40 me of the Authors and Publishing houses trying to keep buyers from selling or giving away books that they bought claiming it violates copyright laws!! I’m a published author and I refused to join the lawsuit!! Guess what. My publisher dropped me and blacklisted me!! No other publisher would buy my books. Government overreach is alive and well😡 who will they come after next if we don’t unite and stand our ground!! Have a Blessed week 🙏

It’s not just you, I got an item taken down of a box of medicine because they thought it looked like the box was slightly cut. Along with it I got a 3 day ban. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Ebay pulled my moth bars, and said that i needed the EPA number to relist (others didn't list it). Fine.. my mistake. An hour later and they improperly pulled it again. Several calls later and i finally get them to see....i did it perfectly (not a seller to understand the process). They said they would get it submitted for me to relist, and to wait for notification to relist. Not a peep
