Abolition is in the dialectical sense, it is the negation of the old to form the new, it is not the total annihilation of the old. This is expressed often by leftists such as engels' famous "abolish state as state", when marx says "abolish private property", he is speaking of the conceptual framework of private property, not to burn down factories and live in an "equal agrarian society". Again, this is the transformation of what was into what is, this process of becoming is integral to understanding marx.

Hegel is hard to understand and this was one of Marx's problems in the way he wrote his ideas. They are very difficult to understand without knowledge on philosophy and it's inaccessible to most workers. Maybe that's why the idea of the Vanguard is regarded by Leninists as so important.

I do remember learning an interpretation about Marx’s views on bourgeois marriage and the way it was described is that marriage was seen as a way to further your wealth and keep money in the family/build more of it, as opposed to a genuine union of love and family. Marx wanted to do away with that kind of monetary transactional system of marriage that the bourgeois class would engage in.

I am against the exploitation of factors under capitalism, however I am not in favour communist manifesto too. Basically Communist manifesto talks about equality in all for however It doesn't deals with basic human nature like greed, jealousy, lust, ethics, sense of belonging, hard work, competitiveness etc tec. How would a human work harder if everyone including his lazy neighbour is earning the same amount of money. Such society will never progress where it's people are content and have no zeal to progress. Karl Marx had never mention the interaction of people and factor of production in such a idealist society..Such idealist society would be a great class for college professor and students ( hence we have seen lot of communism revolts from students and professor ) but talk to an average working class guy. He wants only few things - own house, good name and money in comparison to his neighbor& society, good food and future which can't be achieved in a communist society.

I have to wonder if your own personal opinions have shifted given the current political climate. While I do agree that many take Marx's comments at face value without understanding the nuanced language of the time, the fact that Marx's ideas are being used in a literal fashion by many is a dangerous proposition. As a small example, you stated you didn't think Marx meant he wanted to see actual destruction and violence, but that is in fact, what we are seeing. Additionally, I find it very interesting that the modern day bourgeoise consists of billionaire figures who claim to be fighting for the proletariat all while lining their pockets. Even more interesting that this fact goes largely ignored by the left. In short, whether or not Marx meant his Manifesto to be taken literally isn't really the point as it's much more about the interpretation by those promoting the ideals in modern day.
@LAFC.4 жыл бұрын
i dont believe he said that the manifest does not call to violence but rather that it doesn't call to senseless violence, it only calls for violence against the bourgeoisie should they refuse to aid the proletariat. And you also mentioned that this book goes largely ignored by the left but i have to disagree. Most leftists DO read this book, the people who dismiss this book are liberals and conservatives. Lastly to answer your last sentence, yes Marx DID mean for this manifesto to be taken literally. It is very direct in that.
@grumpfrog8602 Жыл бұрын
Communists don't advocate violence for the fun of it. But it is acknowledged that every revolutionary point throughout history where transition from one ruling class to another comes from violence. If you were in france or america in the 18th century, would you tell them not to seek revolutionary options? It is understood that no ruling class goes quietly. I mean, if you reject the concept that there IS a ruling class, which I don't understand personally, but if you reject that concept then yeah, revolution does seem unnecessary.
