I always try and be respectful when filming in China, I make sure to avoid any sensitive areas, don't film anything remotely to do with politics, or military or government, I film in open public places and film myself. But often I get suspicious old men calling security or the police on me, the police and security guards are always polite and professional and often simply just curious as to what I'm doing and once I explain that I'm shooting a video of myself to show my friends (you my subscribers) what China is really like, they often smile and tell me to continue, but it's not always the case and recently I've been getting a lot of trouble shooting my videos out in public here in China. There is a reason for this and I want to explain to you all why this is all of a sudden an issue, also I want to update you all on how the risks I've taken recently have paid off (or not) as some of you have been asking me to do a follow up on my Risk Failure video I shot over a year ago.

So in nut shell what is happening politically is North Korea is launching bigger and more powerful rockets towards Japan and open waters and has been getting more and more aggressive especially lately. The U.S. has warmed NK and asked China to help get NK to stop being so aggressive towards SK, Japan and others. China says it will and never does and seems to be fine with NK acting up. This happened all during Obama's Presidency and Obama did nothing really just ask NK to mellow out. Then President Trump is elected and he see's NK as a growing problem and threat based on their increasingly bad and aggressive behavior and talk. He see China is doing nothing to try and keep peace in the region by working with NK to try and get them to calm down. The U.S. finally decides after more rocket launches and threats to SK and Japan by NK that its time to try a different approach and set up defensive missile systems to protect SK and others from a NK rocket attack. China now after having over 8 years to help reduce tensions and use its influence with NK to solve the problem now sees the U.S. defensive missiles and change in tactics as a threat to China and NK and they are now upset. China thinks that the U.S. is now targeting them with these defensive missiles and may use them if a conflict in the South China Sea over the military bases China is building in international waters and or other claimed waters by other countries escalates.

I lived in Hong Kong for 16 years and went in and out of China on a regular basis. You are doing a good job in your presentation of the country. Living there is not for the faint of heart which I am. After 16 years I finally decided that I could not take it anymore. Not that I hate China but I could no longer tolerate the attitude and suspicion I got for being a foreigner. It was a difficult decision to leave but glad I did. I feel so much more relaxed after dealing with life there.

Matapatapa In my part of the world they or at least a subsection, are called ‘curtain twitchers’. Unfortunately, in China and certain other countries (Im thinking of my time in and subsequent reading about, Saudi Arabia) with, shall we say, an authoritarian mindset, they have more leverage. Bro, I am a libertarian who has never lived in China, but my grandparents "escaped" Communist China and always tell me stories. Please for your own safety, try and not argue with the police and governors. I am pro free speech and liberty but unfortunately China is a really terrible place for people with "wrong opinions". They would kidnap and do terrible things to people and noone would find out. Few of my ancestors have been captured by the communist party for having a different opinion.

Great video. I recently took a lot of videos in a third-tier city in Jilin province which shares a border with North Korea. I’ll have to watch them again and look out for the “suspicious uncles” lurking in the background. I did occasionally get stared at which I suspected being the only western person around. Most people were friendly and some wanted a photo of themselves with me, which I thought was fun but my Chinese partner soon grew tired of this and they got the death stare from her.

You don't make much with a large farm. Upkeep is expensive, you can't always grow the most profitable crops or you'll expire the soil nutrients and end up with barren land, and most farms in the U.S. today are either real small, subsidized by government, or owned/leased by large companies. The best thing to do is work towards getting a few acres somewhere the land is cheap (Not on the East or West coast lol, too expensive) and then build a half-acre garden, keep some food, and sell the rest in the hipster side of a close city. I know an old family friend that does this and has a small bee farm with a few bees and he goes to a street corner near a rich, trendy part of the nearby city, and sells the produce and honey for a good chunk of change. Like 4 tomatoes for 5 dollars, a small jar of honey for 10-15 dollars, watermelon for 10 dollars etc. Rich people, especially younger trendies eat that homegrown stuff up. Especially the local honey. Around where I live (in the flyover states) you can get a few acres for 10 to 15 thousand, and even find some areas with a small house or trailer and small shop on 5 or 10 acres for around 100 to 150 thousand. Cost of living is low, but it isn't really the most connected or popular place. Kind of boring if you like people and being in the thick of it.

I don't think that most of the people who hate on your videos understand, that most of us here in the USA would love to visit China. They have an amazing history, both in architecture and culture. The land itself is beautiful. Someday I hope to sail it's coast on the way down through Asia. Our governments may posture and there's the mess with the oil fields in the south china sea, but that isn't our people. We'd much rather have a drink than fight. Our economies are tied together and are dependent on each-other. If China failed the US would hurt and if the US failed China would hurt. We're all human.

No, I will just make myself suffer and hate everything around me. Instead, I know all of these America's flaws, but I still like the USA. Bc, I just like its education and lifestyle. What I am trying to say is, if you don't like a country, no matter how you gonna try you still dislike it. So go home and stay in your circle. in 1958, my father had a company in Shanghai, and they conscripted office workers to report to a 'home group' about everything they saw in the company. My father decided to liquidate the company and leave China in 1958. This was reported back to 'HQ' and 7 days before leaving, he was arrested and jailed for being a spy. He spent 3 years in jail after being made to sign a false confession and paying a huge fine, he was deported along with my Chinese mother in 1961 after a show trial. This 'reporting' has not stopped and in fact with Xi Jing Ping has been set up. China closed to foreigners in the early 1960's and was only re-opened by Deng Xiao Peng and China saw its rapid growth. Now China is reverting backwards again, which is why I am calling this ear Mao 2.0.

police have a very boring job, and they are there to keep the peace, not to enforce the law (common misconception about the police, one they and politicians fall victim too quite often in some countries) Thus it is their job to release tensions from a complaint REGARDLESS of the law. An evil uncle would complain to their superiors about them also... Yeah, the law is meant to be used after a breach of the peace, of society, not before. This is the whole idea of victimless crimes being unreasonable.
