They're never explicit about what happened to Hickey, but in the episode where everyone's emails got leaked, there is a point where you can pause the screen on a picture of the lunch lady's emails, and one of them is titled "regarding professor Hickey's memorial services" so maybe he's hosting memorial services, but the strong implication is that he died between seasons.

The style of the episode is inspired by a classic grifting movie, "The Sting" (1973). Fun to see once. Smart, but light-hearted. There's a super-dark grift classic that's actually called "The Grifters" (1990), if you're ever in the mood for blood-curdling nihilism acted to perfection.

I think Frankie is awesome. She is a perfect straight man character. Her exasperation with the Dean for his stupidity, while waffling between trying to not hurt his feelings while also noting that he might be too stupid to understand that his feelings should be hurt - was classic. El Roy was probably one more straight man than they needed. I will say that yours appears to consistently be the most apathetic reaction channel I have seen watch the show. People generally watch reactions to sort of recapture the enjoyment of a show they loved by seeing someone else experience that joy for the first time - and seeing guys constantly comment on how they think characters are stupid or conclude at the end of episodes that are considered classics that they didn’t get it - is a bit frustrating? No one wants dishonest enthusiasm but if you aren’t that excited then why continue to watch jt? You’ve just about watched an entire series with almost every episode ending in the both of you sighing and talking about what it was you didn’t like. Who is this for ? Who is getting something out of this?
