It takes a village. Milwaukee Community Sailing Center, a 501(c)3 non-profit, is on a mission to make Lake Michigan accessible to everyone in the community. Part of that involves owning and maintaining over 60 boats so members can have access to the fleet after passing a basic skills certification.
The protagonist in this mission is their fleet of Ensigns. These Ensigns have provided a stable, comfortable platform for hundreds (thousands?) of brand new sailors over the years. But...these days, the fleet's getting a little long in the tooth. So MCSC set out to refit the fleet. The whole community signed up to help. It's a beautiful thing. Enjoy the story.
