Dubjax, wrong, these kids are brought up with hope, a little too much of it (ie the American dream) but without a legal way to achieve it.

The police sell guns, and drugs, they rape and are mafia connected. The gangs don't run Chicago the mafia does.

I dont think poverty is the main reason, there are plenty of poor countries in the world and most doesnt have a violence problem like that. It must be the mix of gun culture, drug culture and bad education
@georgeh49447 жыл бұрын
yea, but the root of al the problem is people there are poor and don't have the opportunity to live like the rest of the America. it is different when everyone around you is poor but when one group of poor people living in a very rich country, then crime will go up. in criminology this is called relative deperivation. in relative deprivation, a poor person is told by the society that he or she should live in a certain way, but he or she is not able to so legitimately, therefore he or she would be more likely to resort in nonlegitimate to make that money.

the amount of money a school gets is partly based on the Value of the area its build on. Bad area=Low Value=less money for Education=worse Education=Worse Testscore (that also result in less money)= worse chance of a good paid Job= more poverty=Bad area. Money for Education should land where its needed the most and there are schools in Chicago that would be "to unsafe for squatter" in Germany.

Arturas P and what do you kno about many countries?

George H TYVM!!! Relative deprivation, that is such a good description! ...so less income inequality means less crime.
@lizatanzawa79107 жыл бұрын
Mathias B. OMG, I TOTALLY did NOT know that!!!! TYVM!!!! So this way of funding public schools, perpetuates actual hereditary social classes---can't move out of the "bad area" your parents like e in. You have presented a simple solution, if only the elites would realize it is in their own best interests to enlarge a prosperous consumer base, by simply altering the money flow. Lol, like that will happen!

Audience cheering a little inappropriate.

I think this special show is being done in Chicago, so I think a lot of the audience was already familiar with Ceasefire and supported their work.
@amykrenzke5267 жыл бұрын
They’re just proud of good work being done by Ceasefire. Let them cheer! Chicago needs that kind of pride in a smart, hands-on program.

democrats will do anything to avoid talking about who put chicago in this mess in the first place
