Grocery stores, malls, parks, etc. It's all intelligently chosen, where the bus stops are in each city. America did a really good job making that a priority when cities were developed.

orca card automatic fare calculation and refunding across all transit including even the freakin' ferry is nothing short of insanely amazing.

I was there for the ribbon cutting and it's a really nice extension. I was surprised at just how nice the new stations are. I would add that these days, you don't even need the ORCA card, I generally just use it as backup and use a digital card loaded to my Google Wallet for actual use.

@@communitytransit All good but you shutdown all the feeder routes and now it takes a thousand transfers to get from the middle of 527 to even get to Lynnwood Transit Center. 435 used to take us directly to Seattle. Can you get us a direct route to get to Lynnwood Transit Center?

One major aspect I like about Seattle. I got rid of my car years ago. The Metro and now the light rail get me anywhere I desire. The city is cool.

Hansville❤ I grew up going there frequently because my family had vacation property there. That was a different era, when middle class families could own a home AND a place to chill on weekends.

This is perfect! I was in Seattle in May and walked everywhere- including the ballpark- bc I didn’t know how transit worked. Plus it’s a great place to walk! Plan to return so this is super helpful

I am hoping the series will feature destinations north of Seattle that are now possible by combining CT with the recent Lynnwood light rail extension. This one seemed to emphasize going to Seattle, but so many of us are already here; it's the most populous city in the state, after all. The Link is nearby but I don’t know where to go. What's up there, anyway? Help me get out of Seattle, Steve! Edit: I just saw that there are three more videos. Time for some car-free travel!

I love the light rail, but I do have one consistent complaint. It's pretty slow. It's a bummer they didn't build a third track in the middle that only stopped at every hub station, that could have traveled faster, and functioned as an express train

I stopped using the transit for community transit bus and the light rail because every time If was full of addicts and homeless. So sad to spend almost 35yrs and billions to build a light rail where I can’t enjoy it , let alone dream of bringing my kids on it due to the seedy characters. Not safe in Seattle any longer. Cops do their jobs, the politicians let them right out if arrested at all.
