First song I heard from DEG was The Final, from Ozzfest when Kyo cut his chest curing the break. Since then I've been addicted. Arche being my favorite of all.

I saw them live and I can definitely agree that Kyo is not faking any emotions.. he is a performer but to me it seemed, when I was watching the show, that he is literally putting all of himself into it like it is their last performance and I could see how grateful he is to the people listening and honestly, everything that he is giving to the audience seemed extremely genuine and true, all of the emotions and art and everything behind it. The show was definitely something more than just listening to music, at least for me. It basically confirmed all my beliefs I already had before I saw them live.

Beautiful reaction again! This might sound strange, but I think you are aware of that so: I really love to see the emotions on your face when you react. I think Kyo does a lot of planning beforehead, but one of his plans is to always open himself 100% during every song and feel each line as he sings them. So even when there are 'planned' sections they are always delivered with utmost honesty. I know you also like the wild stuff but I would love for you to react to one of their ballads some day like Vanitas, hotarubi, undecided, Inconvenient Ideal, Conceived Sorrow or Ware, yami tote__or one of their most heart wretching songs like mushi or Zakuro [those two I can hardly listen to at certain days because they really tear at me]. But seeing you go back to their beginnings like YEEmoTrash suggested would be fun, as well :) Btw. even though Dir en grey wasn't a new band for you, it seems like the next one for tomorrow will be and I really like the community vote idea ^^ One small thing about that: It seems like I am not the only person who only sees all comments after sorting the commments for 'new comments first'. [I am sorry, I don't know what the button says exactly in English]. So I just thought I should ask if you could add a small note in your next community vote for people to change their settings in order to see all comments? That would be really much appreciated! 😊 Thank you for this reaction and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Like Baldman said after his reaction of this particular live: "Ohh man! it is over again! Once again I'm not ready for it and my emotional connection to the track has not been severed yet. They don't just end the track and bring you out easily; you are still so tied to it, you don't want to let go yet and, I think that's why the end. Track ends that means .It is such a release and that weighted emotion just drops off my shoulders and falls off the proverbial floor, because they build, and they build, and they build and they lock you in so tight that my entire body is tense, my emotions are up, they ae just completely on pin and needles. The muscles are locked up and they don't let you off. Generally they just stop, and you are left with all that... aahh! what a feeling then a lot..... an incredibly emotional powerful feeling and it's something; that's a heck of a video... Now, I will say this, Kyo is the one that writes all the lyrics for all the songs, he is the one that decides how to sing the songs and what emotions he put into it. He is the brains behind the emotional performance. It is hard to believe that all the members keep their private life so separate from each other, that none of them knows how each one of them live their lives. They all have said, that for them the band is a job and as thus, when they are done with practices, photoshoots and performances, they each go home to their private lives. I hope you enjoyed this song. thanks for the awesome reaction!!!!

What amazes me is how the lyrics can be so great even when translated from Japanese, it's really hard to actually do that. The lyrics in Japanese are on another level though

The lyric is not too accurate though. Correct one would be "Yes I..." not "Yes I do..." It's basically saying "Yes, I am dying.." It's the realization of what's happening to that person. I believe this is a very strong emotional pain, coming from the perspective of someone who just committed suicide, and is dying. First, wants to just kill him/herself. The meaning "I cannot hear the scream of yesterday". Filled with stress, doesn't want to hear anything. Near the end becomes a strong regret, desperate scream, then in the end the "I cannot hear" is because the life of him/her is over. So I believe this is a song about what's going on in the mind of person that just committed suicide. Dying, dying, desperate but too late, farewell...and dies. Very sad and very painful.

Well yes these lyrics are very difficult to put into English (esp because Kyo hardly ever writes anything that easy or straight forward haha.) But sometimes you gotta take a little license to portray the lyrics as accurately as possible while ALSO still getting across the meaning of things implied that might not come across in a too literal translation. My two cents on that part, is that the way that whole stanza as written in Japanese is very poetic. As I see it the “そう私は。。。” at the end is implying that the fore-mentioned thing is what that person is doing/going to do and so in my opinion I think the translator did their best there with that.

The way I might have worded it in English: “Yesterday’s cries that can be heard… A single drop that fell into the small world I still don’t understand the meaning of that But the warm crimson paints the true feelings So, yes, I…” The way I interrupted this was that the small drop falling was the cries of yesterday. Though obv painful, they fell merely as a single drop to the world. The person cannot understand the meaning of these things. But finds that the true realization of feelings or actually experienceing a real feeling is one “drawn or painted” by warm crimson (prob blood). To me it’s not necessarily suicide, but it could be cutting or self harm in order to actually FEEL something real. Of course these things often can be seen in different ways.

@@84rinne_moo The scream of yesterday in my opinion, is the inner pain of the main character. At first, it's clearly the pain that him/her wants to get rid of. But towards the end, that scream of yesterday becomes a scream of strong regret although it's the same exact lyric. However, the main character feels the lukewarm crimson. And says "Yes I..." like it's too late now. It really gives different interpretation.「でも生暖かい深紅が描く実感」To be straight forward, it's most likely saying the lukewarm crimson that is dripping off him/her is giving the "realization" that him/her is dying. What's beautiful is, that the lyric is written in a way that it's saying that the "lukewarm crimson depicts his/her true emotions". Kyo said it himself, but it's purposely written in a way, so that it can be interpreted in many different ways, while making none of them wrong but correct in their own way. It's just very complex. But in my opinion, Kyo's lyrics are always complex for somebody who has never experienced the certain type of pain, the lyric within certain music of theirs is describing. But if you do have experience, there's almost no lyrics or songs that can understand your deepest most emotionally painful feeling than Dir en grey's song.

@@letslearnboxing6910 yes so true, the writing is complex and also written very indirectly. I even hesitated to translate the last line like that in English, cause it simply isn’t written that way in Japanese. But it can be soooo hard to convey the right way in another language. It’s also neat how it’s so indirect like was Kyo being purposefully vague? or doing it to convey the person’s reluctance to admit the truth of the situation? or that they simply can’t face it? It definitely is beautifully put tho obv very deeply painful too. I do love that lyrics can often become the listeners own and they can find their own meaning and something that makes them feel akin also.

@@84rinne_moo There's even some Japanese blogs and writers trying to figure out what the meaning of the lyric is. Japanese or not, I'm 100% sure it's not easy to translate it and figure it out. Kyo said we can all feel and see the lyric however we want. Not sure if he would still agree, if I said this song is about a girl and her period, and describing how she feels relieved towards the end when it was over, but eh. Never mind I need some sleep
