@hittingyouoverthehead3 жыл бұрын
If that happens to you in real life, find a group that takes you in and don't wait around for that group to let you in. They're probably toxic. In The Dean's case, he's established early on as an authority figure. That's the main reason no one wants to be friends with him. The same happened to Chang as well and it was a long time before they let him in. Even when Jeff becomes a teacher, the Dean is technically his boss. And I guess it goes without saying, the whole group (maybe with the exception of Troy and Abed) is actually very toxic. They bullied the rest of the school to get their way always.

It's an insanely good show, but you do need to realize that this show relies heavily on its big feature - pop culture references and parodies, so much that it cover up the fact that all characters stopped developing after season 3 (except Jeff who became a teacher and was stuck at Greendale). None of them has a real job, so they don't have promotion and dreams. And their romances kind of went nowhere either. So when they ran out of references, they show starts to drag.
@sunnygolightly99963 жыл бұрын
Also, the meta trope of this show it's exactly why it wouldn't last. It takes true wisdom and vision to make this show. It's actually way easier to make a regular sitcom, with break ups, marriages, promotions, child bringing, and nothing meta.
@Taijifufu3 жыл бұрын
@@sunnygolightly9996 well the show kind of hit a few bumps in the road and there was a gas leak for a while that distorted things. If Bill Murray had agreed to be Jeff's dad, Chevy had been more agreeable, if the network had stopped trying to advertise it around Jeff/Britta will-they/won't-they which the show was NOT, and if Jeff and Annie hadn't sucked up other characters' traits like storyline vampires, _then_ the show might have lasted for 7 seasons. Seasons 5-6 might've been even better, and season 4 might've been good.

I’ve been watching this scene over and over recently. I’m glad it’s on the right channel now

I cracked at the part where the officer fired blanks from his shotgun to explain that "prop guns belong to backstage" and dean said "you have got to be kidding me"😂 also "would that this hoodie were a time hoodie" line is remarkable lol

This scene alone deserves study, like that SNL sketch

The best thing about this scene is that every time a new gun is pulled, the gunshot sounds gets progressively louder and more realistic

'Would that this hoodie were a time hoodie!" is one of those quotes that just lives rent-free in my head.

Jeff's look of genuine remorse after annie said he buried her like a shameful secret is overlooked

That was probably something she improvised

Everything she said during that whole segment felt too honest and heartfelt to be improvised. She did and still does have strong feelings for him and the events of 2-1 really hurt her.

A powerhouse performance from Oscar winner Jim Rash. True master of the craft.

This is LITERALLY the best scene of the show. I laughed my a** out when I first saw this and still can't stop laughing at Dean's reactions

Only after rewatching this episode did it dawn on me that Jeff thought Annie was just playing up the drama when she said she loved him, but she was being completely genuine about her feelings for him.

So let's try and break it down... Annie + Jeff/Professor Dean + Annie Jeff + Dean Annie + Jeff Police + Professor I'm still confused.

Here's the order of events before this: 1. Dean went to Annie and decided to team up to teach Jeff about Academic fraud. 2. Jeff finds out because of Garrity's terrible dialogs that this is Dean's script. He also figures out that Annie probably worked with Dean and confronts her about it. Annie probably apologizes since the team up later. 3. Jeff then decides to mess with the Dean so he calls the Dean and tells him he knows everything and then asks him if he wants to team up with Jeff to teach Annie a lesson about being a good friend. The Dean agrees. 4. Jeff tells Annie about his and Dean's plan which outrages her and then Jeff and Annie decide to team up to teach Dean a lesson about conspiring with everyone. They decide to pretend to have a fight about love in front of the Dean to convince him it's real. 5. They tell the whole thing to Garrity who gets annoyed at their convoluted plan and tells Wacowski to stop it, claiming this is a gun safety issue.

If not for the Community movie, I just want this show and the actors to get the recognition it deserves. Too ahead of it's time, yet it has aged well. #SixSeasonsAndAMovie
