E5 every time in my Bullet 500efi, and never from a supermarket. I tried E10 for a while but the bike would always 'cough' after coasting downhill, never have that problem with E5. Not sure about mpg, didn't use E10 for long enough to make a fair comparison, I'm averaging 75-85 bumbling around. Love your videos matey, I'm jealous of your commute.

Hi Bruce thanks for the vid, yea weather is poo, but duck n dive in between the wt bits here in the NW, edge of the Lake District, I have a hunter nd E5 seems fine but the small amount of miles I do tend to go for the extra fuels bp or she’ll specials, and it goes blooming brilliantly at the moment, fuel X , air filter and mouth, also straight thro exhaust ( more for the louder note) but at 1500 miles just seems to get better, got the cam and will fit it, when I can, at nearly 70, it does everything I need, and don’t intend to spend 5k at moment, but just bought the beeline ll sat nav and having a bit of fun with that, thanks again for the vid and time to do it all, I am slowly getting there after noise issues and editing problems, but will get there, thanks again enjoying the hunter and occcasional ride on 350 bullet, take care Ted, NW biker dude, alias bay bimbler

Hi Ted, sounds like your real happy with the Hunter now you have done some mods 👍 I just fitted the touring bars to match higher touring seat and with the gearing returned to stock real happy again and the cam seems to work better now when needed as bike revs up easier on stock gearing, It has all been a bit trial and error for me and everyone has a different view on things and as you say you are contented with your bike like i am with mine 😁 Editing movies takes a bit experiment to get the right volume of bike and voice, i did try a media mod allowing a microphone but found it too much faff along with depleting the battery life requiring the whole lit to be plugged into bike etc, so i just talk when slow or junction etc, on my i player the Go Pro with wind sock is set at 80% volume and added voice over done on my Apple pc and microphone plugged in is set at 300% volume, sone folk spend a fortune on equipment but i just get on with basic stuff 👍 Using Go Pro Hero 10 with foam wind cover (£5 eBay!) Edited on IMac on the provided I Movie, with cheap microphone for voice over if needed,

Always use e5 in my bikes and have done the same in Classic 350 for over 2 years, never missed a beat and mad mpg, best bike I have owned in 54 years of biking. 😊

I've never put anything but E10 (often supermarket) in my meteor since new (now 6000miles). It's designed for it and I've just done a two-up run with luggage and got 210Miles before the light came on (usually 9 and a bit liters so 2gallons and maybe a bit). That was unusual as I normally get around 190 before the light is on but that's more stop start locally. I do put E5 in my carbureted bike in autumn just in case I don't get to ride it much over winter. That's 22 years old and I stripped the carbs last year and there wasn't any obvious signs of clogging etc from ethanol, so it doesn't bother me. Apart from the fact that E5 here used to be ethanol free but now it has up to 5%.... so watch this space for the next 22 years...

Regarding the ethanol petrol, my pal who is a mechanic says that the real harm comes from e10 petrol lying in the fuel systems over the winter, it absorbs water apparently, so he told me that he puts half a teacup of twostroke oil in , a wee bit smokey , but its better than nothing he says anyway, cheers bruce, 😊

I also heard it is the E10 sitting long term which causes the issues, i use Castrol Fuel additive in my Willys Jeep as it would have ran on leaded petrol, i added a drop of castrol in my petrol hedgecutter qnd started up easy this Spring! 😁👍

So much has been written about this topic. The higher the ethanol content the more likely it is to eat rubber parts. If you run the bike regularly I would say it makes little difference but if like me it doesn’t do many miles use E5 plus an additive. I try not to use supermarket fuel as it doesn’t have the extra additives in it, unless you add them of course. I used to visit a fuel transfer depot for work and the branded tankers put the extra additives in whereas the supermarket tankers either didn’t or used less. Higher performance / compression engines probably benefit more.

From a country where E10 is the standard fuel. E15 is rolling out as a discount alternative. If the engine under consideration is for sale in the NAFTA countries, and this one is, it will run E20 without incident. There may be an impact on fuel economy, but which way you go depends on the FI system. E20 is also the standard in Brazil where these bikes are sold. So, use the ethanol and see how it goes. I guarantee it won't gum up the jets on your carburetor. And the ethanol isn't processed from "No. 1 seed corn", aka the maize you find in the supermarket.

I went from 90 Bhp with my BMW to 20 with my Fireball. There is something enjoyable about being able to use all of a bikes HP most of the time without ending up in jail or worse. Looking forward to your upcoming content. I do love castles.😉 Cheers 🥃

We do like the look of the Guerrilla, but , nothing they bring out will have the slow thumping engine character of the Classic 350 which I love, even my missus says nah , you'll never sell your Classic for something newer, and herself she still wants a Hunter because of the engine and the bikes looks, and there's some bargains to be had second hand now, 👍 Fuel wise I put e5 in when it's available generally ,and do feel the bike runs better on it , but if it isn't I don't mind using e10 , but my 24 year old carburated SV650 I always use e5 . There is deft a difference in our Jet garage E10 to nearby Asda E10, must be additives Jet use as G’s Astra VXR runs ok on The Jet E10 but splutters and pops on Asda E10!

When my classic 350 was new and the engine was tight it ran very hot and there used to be a lot of pre-ignition / knocking / detonation / pinging / pinking (why are there so many words for that 🙂) when using E10. It was fine on E5 though so I've used it ever since. Still done only at around 1500 miles but the engine feels a lot looser is definitely cooler and just feels nicer to ride. That being said the knocking wasn't so obvious wearing a full face helmet but with an open face pilot style helmet, that only has fabric flaps over the ears, you can hear every little engine noise.

I remember my engine real hot when new and i like others thought it was because of the lean burn design being air cooled and it was restricted, now we all know changing parts does not make the bike run cooler and it is just because the engine does take at least 1500 miles or so to loosen up - and run a bit cooler 😁👍

Morning on the subject of petrol it’s always E5 in my bikes and premium diesel in my car slightly better performance may be it’s in the mind I don’t know but in the bikes withE5 they seem to run better I ride a T120 bonnie and a triumph rocket 3gt and I’m sure it’s better great video great scenery and a beautiful soundtrack of the little 350 in the Scottish countryside nothing better but I bet all that will change come autumn/winter 😂oh and I never use supermarket petrol just me🤷‍♂️ I go by what I’m advised that’s me take care ride safe

But no Bruce, we have a new engine at home if the other one doesn't work anymore. It's a good thing the Guerilla doesn't look as nice as the Classic 350😅. Fueling: I only fill up with the best e5 racing aral or Shell🤣 At the end you took the photos, that's how I feel every time I take a break. It's just a beautiful motorcycle ☺️especially in Drab

I think the saying i often use ‘Less is More’ sums up keeping what i have as i find more satisfaction the longer i own and use things, whatever it is, on the fuel thing my partners Astra VXR runs awful on cheap supermarket E10 but thats a performance engine of over 280 bhp! compared to low Enfield power!, i do find garden 2 stroke equipment does not like E10 fuel, i had issues with my Sthil 2 stroke hedge cutter, and cured it by running E5 in it 😜😁👍

E 10 can damage engins severel mecanics in my country have noted a loot of engins smal engins like garden equipment/boat engins and older cars and bikes are getting damage, my 86mod XJ 900 clogd up in the carbs the etanol damages the O rings, seals +++ i always use E5

The E number has nothing to do with the octane of the fuel (low octane actually burns faster than high octane, causing predetonation in high compression engines) E is what is called in Germany a Volksverarsche. It means you are @sshøling the people. E is for environmental/ethanol as there is a percentage of renewable fuel in the mix.. Where you could find an old tank with pre-ethanol fuel and an engine might run on it. Ethanol deteriorates very quickly. What you should be asking yourself is how quickly will you use the fuel and what has the burning of ethanol done to the food prices in Central America so ppl can feel better. E0 or E5. Please

In the UK the E number does indirectly have something to do with octane number. E10 is 95 octane, while E5 is generally either 97 or 99 octane. And in my opinion it's that factor that is likely the reason that many folk report better running with the E5 fuel. Nothing to do with the level of ethanol but a lot to do with the fact that they are higher octane fuels
