Dude that was one of the funniest moments ever! "Umm, boss I'm running late this morning. Well....um... you see, I'm kinda stuck in a skate pool". Awesome video man! Glad you're enjoying your 5⭐! Absolutely agree about ebikes! They've opened up a whole new world in my small town, even after living here for 20 years. It's such a blast exploring. Congratulations on hitting 2k subs!👍

Great video as usual. Completely agree everything you said about riding in to work versus driving in. I drive a 2023 Tacoma(luv that truck) and I ride to work as much as the weather allows. I haven't bought gas in a six weeks. Not only do I leave work like I'm Fred Flintstone leaving the Slate and Gravel Company (dating my self) but I get the treat of riding my bike home. Later Big Dawg..............................also,beware of modern day dinosaurs.

Laughed pretty hard at the opening clip. I've got about 60 miles on mine already including some pretty rough trails and getting it up a steep creek bank from a stop is by far the biggest workout I've had on the bike. Had to stop and catch my breath. It's really impressive how it powers through obstacles, it takes a minute to figure out how much to trust the bike's ability to push you up a hill. I found myself expecting to come to a stop on certain hills, but it gets a little trippy when it doesn't slow down and just rips up the hill instead. Minor things I've noticed so far: - the cable from the cadence sensor is hanging down below the bottom bracket. First a branch snagged it and unplugged the connector, then later the cap / ring thing that holds the sensor in place came loose. Both easy fixes, just plugged it back in and snapped the cap back in place. Tip for other owners, the loose wire coming from the cadence sensor should be tied or taped tight against the frame to avoid snagging brush you ride over. Thankfully they welded a little post under the BB to protect the sensor from getting smashed on rocks or branches. -the derailer and gear set are kinda cheap and will probably need a little tuning / adjustment, but obviously there's a reason why this bike is $1995, not $4,000-6,000 like their other bikes. Not a real problem, just something to note. -not a big fan of the bmx style bars. I get that an upright riding position is more "comfortable," but the geometry just feels a little weird. I definitely like them more for cruising down the road and less for off-road. I came down some steep banks and wrenched the bars forward two different time because there's just so much leverage with the distance from the grips to the headstock. I think I'm just going to swap them out with a mountain bike riser bar that maybe cuts the height in half. This one for me comes down to preference and the type of riding I want to do. -you can tell it's heavier in the rear with that big hub motor. Approaching rocks and other obstacles on the trail, I try to give it a little bunny hop action to keep all my weight from totally bearing down on the wheels and I can tell the rear end just doesn't want to come up. The power of the bike just throws you off at first, because it feels like you're pushing a spry, nimble mountain bike and your muscle memory kind of kicks in, then you do something non-motor related like trying to push it up a half pipe and you quickly realize how heavy a 90+ pound bike is. For the price of this bike I'm totally blown away. All I can compare it to is the Radmission Bike I have that cost $1000 in 2019. 500 watts, single speed, no suspension, wimpy battery... the five star feels like both a tank and a Ferrari compared to the Rad bike, easily five times the bike for less than twice the cost. If anyone wants to upgrade a particular feature to suit their liking, they can do it and the bike is priced in a way that doesn't force you to pay extra for upgrades that aren't important to you.

I love how each company will fight over who copied who, but the factories in China are probably across the street from each other, and just passing the blue prints back and forth and designed each. As long as someone is selling their bikes, they don't care. I'm so happy there's this competition now. My guess is one of the companies will release the dual motor bike for almost the same price now.

100%. There's no way we'd be seeing Wired doing effectively 60V 35aH of battery and 4 piston brakes with a peak wattage of over 3000 in a $2,000 bike if it wasn't for competition. And now E-Cells is adding an option for the same battery setup as the new Wired, plus upgraded dual-crown forks and 4-piston Tektro brakes for an extra $500 (which puts it $100-200 over the new Freedom when tax and shipping is considered). We're living in a great time right now.

Both companies are now taking orders. The Five Star with the Dual Star package won't be shipped until July. The price is $500 for the ECells Dual Star upgrade. Both bikes are almost equal in price due to Wired adding in the shipping cost, package protection, and taxes. I like both bikes because they're almost identical. ECells offers a lifetime warranty on their frame, 2 years for the batteries & motor and 1 year on everything else, with exception of wear & tear items. Sounds better than Wired's warranty. All that being said, I ordered the new Wired Freedom version because they claim it'll get to me in early to mid June, one month earlier than the Five Star w/ Dual Star package. I live in Colorado, so our riding time is limited. 🥶

While I think its cool that Wired updated their bikes, I don't really think its the homerun everyone is making it out to be. The price isn't really the same, its 1999, plus tax and shipping which for me worked out to be right about 2500 bucks. The extra battery is nice, but its also going to make a heavy bike even heavier. I personally would rather see a 72 volt bike put in a smaller frame and be somewhere around the 70-75lb mark. The weight of these bikes already disqualifies a big part of the market imo. I wouldnt recomment one for my mom, or anyone that is on the smaller side, limited mobility etc. Maybe thats just me though? For 1895 delivered, its hard to beat the Five Star imo.

I am sure he is a nice guy, but he is breaking the law by riding on the wrong side of the street, blowing through stop signs, and speeding on the sidewalks. In these videos we must abide by the laws or the Government will Regulate and pass laws that will restrict our Freedom. We all do not what that. We have to be conscious of this fact when filming. I am sure you do not want your Affiliation Relationship pulled from E-Cells. This guy does a good job and I Appreciate his passion. Let’s just follow the rules and be respectful to others to keep the Gov. off our backs.

Someone stole my Onyx cty2 the other morning, and I've only owned it for 2 months now. There seems to be very little hope that I'll ever get that bike back again, and I dumped all the money I had into purchasing it. Hell, I can't even express how devastated I am, and how devastated I've been for the last 2 and 1/2 days that I've went back and forth done every street in my town, trying to locate that bike. For if I did express how devastated I am, I'm almost positive that I'd be admitted to a mental institution by midnight, all because someone, somewhere wanted to feel better about themselves.

@@shootthechit Yes it is! It's also made everything I do on the internet really suck too! I watch so many e-bike KZbin videos there for a while, and was a member of so many e-bike groups on Facebook, that now that my bike's stolen, I want to try and avoid that stuff as much as possible. Yet, you can't avoid it because it's all over your Facebook feed, and it's also being advertised and/or otherwise shoved in your face, no matter where you go online.

Isn't there a GPS available that you can hide on the bike. They can track phones, and I think they could come up with something.

You can cut through those Kryptonite locks so fast with a grinder wheel. The good thing about the hiplock is you also have to cut both sides to get it off as well. They are legit locks

You are 100% wrong about the "stupid shit no owner is going to do". I'd love to ride with Big Dawg down every trail he hit. I ride my bike like it's a horse galloping. Ass off the seat, hit the throttle, and say a little prayer works for me. You are definitely a Troll, though.
