You mentioned one of the most phenomenal musician/producers I've ever cherished in my 6+ decades; I hold him partly responsible for my hopeless, extreme addiction to every note of music he's ever played....... Colombia's Diego Gale. Now, this is a gringo's point of view, but when I think of Colombian salsa I consider one other musician/producer; Fruko (y sus Tesos) Estrada is kind of a counterpart to Diego Gale in the sense one represents Medellin style and the other Cali style. While Colombian salsa is fantastic, there's also the production aspect; Colombian studio work is perfection. I consider the cats behind the production to be as much musicians as the players in the band. What I'd give to be able to go to Colombia for an event where Diego is playing, such as Feria de Cali. Okay, suffice it to say you said a magic word and got a subscriber :) And my gratitude for your generosity of excellence.

Las campanas o cencerros, algunas, tienen algunos sobretonos o sonidos no deseados, esas pequeñas gomas o a veces un poco de tape o cinta adhesiva apaga esos sonidos no deseados. Algunos músicos prefieren no ponerle nunca nada a la campana. Gracias por visitar los videos.

Sherif, I have small hands and the JCR (may he RIP) bell it's a large bell. I can take some liberties as far as my index, as you mentioned. But the general point is to hold the bell firmly and not muffled the sound. Thanks for watching the video and for your comment.

Don't know either the number or model, sorry my friend! I bought it at Haight Ashburry Music Center in San Francisco, a good 20 years ago, and I buy bells by testing them and playing them. It doesn't have any number or code written on it. All I know is JCR Bells are now a bit of a collectors item, and I believe JCR made a higher pitch and this one which is the lower. I recently (just a couple of days back) saw one just like that for sale on E-Bay . Thanks for your comment.

De acuerdo: es obvio. No hay timbalero en el conjunto. Pero en muchas ocasiones musicales en la Salsa, después de un "bloque" (break) ó corte, el timbalero y el bongocero entran juntos en la section de campanas, por eso argumento el comentario de que el timbalero entra "siempre" primero en la campana. De nuevo, gracias por los comentarios. Pa'lante!

This are percussion classes concentrated, not a quick reference on how to play. What other people find VERY informative, you find boring or unnecessary, and that is the way it goes... Thats why there is the "like or dislike" button on the right of the video. Thanks for the comment.
