I am trying to build pc but right now the cpu i want and gpu I want is so overpriced by almost double.

I've been watching a pre-built on Scan with a 4080 super that I was on the fence about and after the 5090 reviews have come out, it's jumped up in price by £150 after going down by £50 before they announced them 😥

5080 should have been at least 24GB, this is ridiculous

The real tragedy is that the 5080 will be the first 80class gpu that fails to consistently outperform the previous gen flagship. Probably because it has specs that basically match 70 class in previous generations.

@@svenweyers3916 this is what I think has happened since it’s not the same die as the 5090. Used to be base 80 cards were cut down from the top die, now they are NOT even the top die.

You cant even say that fake frames add to performance at all. It only adds to visual performance but besides that it is not actual performance. Better get OLED monitor which is cheaper then 5080 or 5090 and that will give visual performance :D

i just bought a 4070 super at msrp...... i think it will be faster then the 5070 and i dont have to worry about supply chain issues

Yeah they are probably really close in prefomance, yiu did the right choice

Yup probably the way to go if you gotta do it now.

Common has two mm. Usually if there is a stronger intonation of a consonant it ends up doubled in the English words, such as common. This 5090 is simply horrible, 2000 dollars is an insane price. 30% more performance, 25% more energy draw, 25% more cost... Same node, no efficiency gains, it's basically a small heater. Fake frames full of artifacts, with 30ms average latency? BS. A 7900XTX is what 40-45% less raster performance for less than half the cost, still expensive, but a lot better. Lets hope AMD brings something great to the table, such as they did with the 5800x3d, 7800x3d, 9800x3d, always improving the node and several technologies. I prefer to wait for AMD to bring high and more compatible drivers, most likely needed because there are actual innovations that require different drivers. Intel Arrow-lake was another huge dud.

@@Adreno23421 absolutely. My whole argument in many of my videos is paying more, to get more performance that is only proportional to the money you pay isn’t a generational improvement, it’s just a higher end model.

Bro this is bs. I don’t even wanna believe this garbage. Yea I know it’s videocardz, but it’s prices @ launch, hasn’t been released yet, & Canada sucks balls…so I have a little hope left.

@@godnamedtay I wish I could deliver some positive news, but then I don’t think it would be the truth. It’s just straight ridiculous what’s happening. I don’t even want to really comment that much on performance no one is going to even be able to enjoy.

@ regarding to the 5080…No, there’s no performance discussion to be had anyway, period. The 5090, which I will purchase eventually, this whole thing is pure bs. 1, I won’t be able to get a FE, which I really wanted this gen cuz of the size & design. 2, NVIDIA no longer gives af about GeForce gpu’s, therefore I truly believe well over 90% of the manufacturing priority for Blackwell will go to server. Aka there won’t be ANY supply & scalpers will buy them all. The DIY PC landscape is arguably in THE worst position it’s been in, way worse than Covid imo, because there’s no reason to be optimistic…about anything currently.
