Here is a demo video on how GUL Screening can be performed on an 8-inch diameter pipe, Schedule 40 (8.18 mm wall thickness) using the Compact® transducer ring and the Wavemaker® G4mini.
The GUL Screening results show that there is a defect located 14.9 meters from the transducer ring, at the 5 o’clock circumferential location and with an estimated size of 0.84% CSC (cross-sectional area change).
GUL Screening is used to detect corrosion, erosion and other damages in steel pipes using guided waves.
