62 or 63 years ago a Mr Will Walker had a corn crop, about a mile as a crow flies from the St Francis Floodway in June it was a drought the corn was yellowed and turning white. Dying... 2 weeks later the Floodway had come up from heavy rains north in Missouri.our soils here are alluvial topsoil was about 12 inches deep followed by about 6 to 8 feet of moderate to heavy clay on top of water bearing sand

Moldboard plowing in fall or early spring in Northeast Arkansas you tried to immediately after plowing run a light disc or field cultivator to eliminate the risk of super soft soil after rains.

Say I use a zone builder in the fall, and then come by spring time I field cultivate at 2 inches and plant my seed over the slices left by the zone builder at 2 inches deep. Is that a good idea? Or would the field cultivator not let that happen?
