@kukui793 жыл бұрын
@White Wolf Where did I mention overthrowing anything, LOL? Go back and re-read. And nobody here is saying the Supreme Court said corporations are literally people, just that they've given them the legal rights of people. So Citizens United gives corporations free speech rights, even though each individual person who makes up a corporation already has free speech rights and the right to donate to political causes. It allows the executives of a corporation to take the money their employees have earned for them and put it toward uses that many of their workers disagree with, and that are generally harmful toward those employees. Hobby Lobby is even worse, as that decision allows corporations to deny human rights to their employees, such as by denying treatment for addiction or denying birth control, even when it is needed to prevent cancer or treat endometriosis. The rationale for that decision is also based on corporate personhood, as it rests on the assumption that a corporation can deny others' rights because the corporation believes that premarital sex or alcohol use is wrong. This one is particularly egregious, is it determines that the personhood of the corporation is more important than the actual rights of human beings.

@No Name Depends very much on the country. Just like in Germany, Aldi Süd runs the stores in some countries, Aldi Nord in others. Whether you have a crappy Aldi in your country or not, depends on the parent company. In Germany, Aldi Süd is much nicer. All Aldi Nord subsidiaries outside of Germany, used to be awful, but since the owners died, the two companies have been merging slowly. In a few years there should be no distinction. Lidl, has always had one owner, so their stores have been (mostly) consistent, no matter the country.
