Our family works in medical science. If 2020 proved anything it’s that science is trying to understand the truth of God and often what is called “the science,” is the bias of fools who don’t recognize how God is the creator of science and his patterns stand. There’s a reason why men like Galileo, Newton, and every groundbreaking scientist that based their theories on facts were seeking the truth of God and not the popular teachings of the time that were not to be questioned. “The science” is a religious belief system, actual science is seeking the truth of God even when those who find it are mocked till proven right much later. I can tell you for a fact in 2020 scientist were told, at least locally, not to question or test, that’s not science, but it was “the science” forced on those who didn’t agree with it under duress. God doesn’t force himself on anyone, people can absolutely choose to eternally separate themselves from his good and perfect ways.

He was very polite to all, excelpt for Computer Studies - Art and Design laments that all drawin gis now done on a screen... - Music also came, and immediately sat down on the piano keyboard, playing some nice background tunes for the party (until the upstairs neighboor complained, that is...) - Computer studies naturally was invited, but he quickly alienated everybody: he would not stop talking on how important he had become, how his cousin A.I. is getting hired by all prestigious Colleges, how he is becoming even more important than Maths and English... Fortunately, New Media Studies was there to engage him in conversation. They ended in a deep discussion about online video platforms.

@Undivided-X Жыл бұрын
Latin didn't make English though, German did. Latin just spiced it up a tad.
@davidwuhrer6704 Жыл бұрын
@@Undivided-XNot quite so. The Latin influences in English are from French, which used to be Latin. As did Spanish. So yes, English is not a direct descendent of Latin, but the many French words in English are ne pas just un cliché. There are a few German loan words in English, but not nearly as many as French. Or even Greek, for that matter. So in no way can it be said that German made English. The creole that is English does have North Germanic roots (as well as Celtic and, as mentioned, French), but that's closer to Norwegian and Danish than German (which is not a Northern Germanic language).
@gborsonello Жыл бұрын
@@davidwuhrer6704actually, Old English falls under the category of *West Germanic languages", which is still up to today the backbone of Modern English. French has added to the lexicon but the structure is West Germanic. The closest language to English is.... (🥁) Frisian! So, Latin has made wonderful contributions to English, in the form of French but also as the language of science and medicine; however, English is nonetheless a Germanic Language.

Barely though. Around two thirds of English vocabulary and grammar comes from either Latin or French (which means from Latin but indirectly lol). Without Latin, sure the Germanic side of English would be there, but that version of English as a whole would be majorly unrecognisable compared to the English we speak today. At that point that English would just be a completely different language than English now, so to say that English now wouldn't exist without Latin is valid because otherwise we'd have something very different from our current English

I think they missed a joke by not having Latin and Classics interact! (Yes, I know they're both Arms, but they could have made it work!)

I guess German was to busy being serious to make it to the party. What a pity as he can cut loose once he gets a beer or three in him.

Pity indeed. He would have loved to practice his English, unlike the other two :).

Yay! Absolutely love a party sketch! So much packed in - poor maths and geography and PE and Latin and .... low blow at media studies (though accurate). Maths and drunk Geography were hilarious! Chemistry and history 🥰

Quoting Latin and proudly translating it into the most sarcastic or deadpan phrase is always great. Extra points for naming the author.😂

As a teacher in English and history Who also studied latin (of which I constantly remind People and they don't care) I would say that was spot on! 😂

The only thing you're missing, is someone asking Irish if they can go to the loo, and them correcting to 'An bhfuil cead agam dul go dtí an leithreas' 😂, a collective Irish education system memory
