I love your vegetable garden videos so much. They have prompted me to start planting herbs (have to start small) and I cant even begin to describe how happy it makes me to be able to go outside and cut fresh herbs to use in my kitchen. Thank you so much for being my garden teacher.

I love companion planting. It adds so much beauty to the garden. Last year i got a bit carried away and planted thing too close together. Hopefully i did better this year. "Carrots love tomatoes" is an excellent book that makes garden planning this way easier.

Got my coffee and a garden answer video...good way to start my day. Good Morning everyone, I’m very happy that you put out this video and excited because I just found out about this basil and double bloom strawberries that proven Winners is putting out called proven harvest. Great information about the ahphids and I will be trying this out with my tomatoes. And Biotone, another fertilizer that we cannot live without in our garden. I cannot stress enough to other people how a good fertilizer really makes your plants and garden shine and stand out. 💚💚💚💚💚💚

Borage is a favorite at the farm near my house where I get a CSA share! Another bonus is that many of the companion flowers are edible. Adding some nasturtium greens to my salad last year inspired me to grow them myself, but I've also seen cakes decorated with edible flowers so I'd like to do more planting of beneficial flowers so I too can decorate a cake beautifully and simply whenever the spirit moves me to do so. :)

Another companion plantng you can try is to plant summersquash, sunflowers/corn (depending on what you want) and pole beans/peas together. The corn/sunflowers will serve as support for the beans or peas and the squash will cover the ground. :D

I used nasturtiums last year with my tomato plants, it worked well except that they really stole a LOT of nutrients from the tomato plants. For that reason be watchful for that and stay on top of it. Also, how do you recommend to rid the aphids once they appear on the nasturtiums? My nasturtiums were covered and I just pulled them out and threw them in the yard waste bin. The nasturtiums did naturally appear this year because they reseeded themselves, which was a nice surprise. :-) I love your videos, thank you for making them.

Great ideas for companion planting! Maybe you and Aaron could do a video on square foot gardening? We love your vegetable garden, but for those with less room, there is so much you can do with a smaller plot of garden in the yard - and the vegetable yield is impressive in square foot gardens. Love your videos and am always excited to spend some time with you and get inspired!! Just curious ..... have you seen "No" lately? I laughed out loud when you explained why you named him :D !!

@BeautyMommysUnite
@BeautyMommysUnite 6 жыл бұрын
M Freeman I don't know about all the night blooming flowers but I started some moon flowers this year. They're a version of a morning glory that bloom at night. I'm putting them together with my morning glories at the front of my house so they climb up the house and I'll have the morning glories during the day and the moon flowers at night. The only problem is they are an aggressive plant that will choke out and kill anything around it and they spread like weeds too.

Concerning aphids, take a couple of tomato leaves, crush them and put them into a gallon container. Fill with water, let set for 24 hrs, then strain out the leaves and pour into a spray bottle. You now have a solution that will kill aphids shortly after you spray your tomato plants. Be SURE to spray UNDER the leaves as well because that's where they like to hide. I use this EVERY TIME I see aphids because it WORKS wonders. 😯
