Companion Single Burner Wok Cooker

I have this burner and similar set up but I can’t find a good windshield for strong wind at the beach for it. Do you have anything that you would recommend? Thanks

I wonder what the advantage is for all that weight of the cooker and gas…. Over a cheap portable butane stove?

The advantage is ultimately for people who cook with a wok @Brek Martin. Surprisingly one of our most popular stoves! Those cheaper portable butane stoves are limited in their heat output/efficiency, and susceptible to ambient temperature issues. ~ Lauren

btu's barely high enough to stir fry on. I mean its about that of a butane burner the same size. but I would try and get at least 20-30k btu out of a WOK cooker.

12800 BTU isn't enough, Nelson? This is a portable leisure appliance, not a commercial grade cooker, most camp cookers are around 10,000 BTU. ~ Ben

@@SnowysOutdoors yeh, but I was looking for a reason to upgrade from a butane cooker besides the fact it wont even work in the winter. ARC makes wok burners at about 80k 30k or 26k. It's more or less about getting the quickest boil out of water/oil in a wok. but in a commercial setting all that comes out of the tap hot so outdoor cooking is gunna have its downsides anyway you look at it. This burner looks like a good winter trade off for my butane burner. and more sturdy!

That is not a wok burner. You are 150,000 btu’s short. That is a burner for a small stock pot.

It's a cooker developed by Companion who call if a wok burner, and lots of people cook on it with woks, maybe it just doesn't suit your needs, J M. ~ Ben

i came looking for something that can heat up a WOK for stir fry and this title is very misleading. This is something used for camping or something real quick at home. False title.

Looks pretty weak for a wok burner. Better off calling it a gas stove

Plenty of people use it as a regular gas stove, but it is more of a wok burner than the other camping stoves on the market, mardy7788. It's no commercial wok burner, but for camping and outdoor purposes it's pretty good. ~ Ben

this isnt a wok burner, the content creator baited us with a misleading title.
