The problem with the scene where Hinawa and Obi are being impersonated is that its directed poorly. It goes from the Ben hearing the impersonators to Obi and Hinawa running immediately. Then the show tries to explain what happened afterward. Its only reasonable to assume that the real Obi and Hinawa were testing Ben, at least at first.

They mentioned the Captain doesn't have powers before. Also in one of the flashbacks they showed he was a normal fire fighter before he met the Lieutenant and together they formed the 8th. That's why he's always training they mentioned because he has no powers so he trains so that he can keep up and fight infernos. Benimarus eyes are different to show how he is a second generation and third generation pyrokenesis. Second Generation is being able to control and manipulate fire like the solider chick on their team and Hibana. Third generations can produce fire from their bodies, like Arthur and Shinra. Benimaru can do both that's what makes him so powerful.

I don't know why I thought you read the manga for Fire Force. They mentioned it last episode. One of his eyes controls fire (2nd generation like Maki and Hinawa) and the other let's him produce fire(3rd generation like Shinra, Arthur, Captain Burns, Rekka, etc). I want to say I've known this whole time that Obi had no powers but I remember sometime back going back to the first episode to double check

@@kailee4657 Actually, they showed the two people in Evangelist robes with the same faces as Obi and Hinawa on the roof watching the fight between the 8th brigade and Benimaru. There is also a time gap between when Benimaru attacks and when the 8th meets up with Obi and Hinawa. Also, you are talking to someone who has read the manga. Thanks for trying though, I appreciated the extra laugh.

So Its been brought to my attention that they mentioned the captain not having powers in earlier episodes. Thing is guys, they never made a big enough deal of it, and I must have took it with grain of salt because I didnt know where this show was going or what they were gonna do with the characters. They put so much focus on the other Pyro users that it was EASY to forget the Captain. So we get a pass. Cut us some slack, yall got us watching 90 freakin shows. No need to be a know-it-all for little stuff.

I'm starting to discover for myself that every anime that people say is good I'm not always going to like and vice versa. When it first started everyone was saying how much they liked Fire Force more than Dr Stone and then eventually I started seeing so many people say they didn't like Fire Force for whatever reason.

Nah I also saw that. When both shows dropped people were all for Fire Force for like the first three episodes. Even some reactors were saying they were gonna pick Fire Force over Dr. Stone. But then Stone (even though I personally love the first two episodes) really picked up when Tsukusa and Senku started beefing and it keeps ramping up with its conflict and Bill Nye shtick. It only took like three eps to set the groundwork. Meanwhile Fire Force is still building on its lore AND mystery with characters we don’t really know that well yet. The thing about Fire Force is ironically, it’s kinda burning slow. Everything except maybe the animation has been just ok. The “twist” about the Shinra’s brother was seen a mile away, the few antagonists we’ve seen are lackluster because they’re either fodder or switched sides after one fight with not too much development. It’s kinda been a slog. And that’s why people kinda switched up with those two.

They didn't call him "bozo" btw... It's worse... they said "kuso bozu" which kinda translates to "shit boy" (kuso = shit, bozu = Buddhist priest/monk... Many boys in olden days had their heads shaven, so were called "bozu" like the priests). And it's sad the subtitles didn't show how one of the girls was just spewing out nonsense sounds when Shinra was dragging them out of the room. She was just going, "Ehnya nya nya nya nya!" in the same whiny angry tones as they usually talk. It was hilarious 😂
