Smirnova is a supernova of an artist. Thank you for sharing the rehearsal process - glad she has taken a trajectory towards peace, beauty and love. Truly exquisite work by the pianist, coach, tech crew, architects and of course the dancers!
@normamimosa59912 жыл бұрын
Trajectory towards peace? By 2021 over 14,000 Donbass Russian men, women and children had been killed by the Ukrainian Azov Military, the genocide began in 2014, after the US-initiated, bloody Maidan Coup to oust a duly elected Ukrainian president spilled into civil war, official apartheid policies against Russian-Ukrainians and slaughter of Donbass Russians. Putin relentlessly called for diplomacy to end that genocide, US/NATO aggression and the nazi infiltration in Ukraine that was threatening Russia. The West REFUSED, including the Netherlands. These three issues, particularly the genocide, were key factors in the formation of the Russian SMO, given the West's refusal to negotiate peaceful terms. In other words, Russia was forced to form a Special Military Operation to end genocide. In view of the Dutch experience during WW2, and its liberation by the Canadian Military, one would expect more wisdom from the country. Instead the Netherlands has been one of the EU countries at the forefront of promoting and continuing death and destruction in Ukraine, Biden's chosen proxy battleground in a manufactured war against Russia (that started long before the SMO). There is on-the-ground, live, video reporting of Zelensky's men, likely SBU, hauling Ukrainian men out of their cars at gunpoint to send them to the front to die as proxy fodder for the US/EU manufactured war against Russia. EU sanctions against Russia and highly misguided, opportunist green agendas are boomeranging back to implode Europe, not least the Netherlands where outrageous restrictions and dictates on the farmers are creating additional chaos and risk. What were these Bolshoi and Mariinsky dancers thinking? They both owe their careers to Russia. Were they uninformed, spending no free time on geopolitics? Did Victor Caixeta simply leave, because the West had cut off travel to and from Russia? Or did he leave in protest, without knowledge of the facts? Olga Smirnova actually announced her protest. Was she ignorant of the facts? Or was her move more about her husband's career? The Dutch Ballet lapped them up. Why not. Two extremely talented dancers. But why did the Dutch Ballet, the best Western ballet company (in my view), under the reality of the Dutch involvement in this evil war and adverse consequences to the EU/Netherlands, feature these two particular dancers on World Ballet Day, rather than any other two dancers who have been loyal to the Dutch Ballet, even as the country implodes into chaos around them. An appalling (transparent) political decision that should have no place in ballet companies. A decision that has brought a discussion into its space about the war and the Netherland's appalling agenda against Dutch farmers, risking the very food supply of the country, the food supply that keeps these beautiful dancers at the Dutch Ballet healthy -- all as a result of evil US/EU sanctions and war against Russia, for which no acceptable reason has been given. There is no acceptable reason. Badly Done.

I hardly know about ballet, but like to see the classes as it relaxes me. Live in a country (Brazil) with no such strong culture in regards to ballet dancing. There is some prejudice mainly for men dancing ballet, that is something weird. Saw that documentary from France TV and NHK registering the lives of very young dancers, since childhood at L'Opera Garnier, and saw the amazing support from most parents, and hope this type of behaviour becomes the norm here one day. And despite current political issues affecting Europe and world in general, ballet art should never die, regimes changed a long time ago in France, Russia, and I imagine that the revolutionaries may have thought that ballet was something reflecting the values of the old regime, but even though it survived and became stronger. It is wonderful to see a very diverse class like this one, with for sure different surnames in the room working for the same goal, much above political differences from their countries of origin. Congrats to all involved in this wonderful thing !!!!!

Smirnova is so graceful and spiritually radiant, and her neck, face, arms and hands are so poetic. Just an epaulement, a smile, and the light of the Spring comes in the room. It's rather brave to accept to show the work on technical details with this great coach (which I d like to see when she was dancing herself). I hope the best for this incredible star, and to her partners and the company.
