Compaq Armada 1750 - Tour, Games & Network

Today I'm taking out my go-to MS-DOS computer in the spirit of #doscember - the excellent Compaq Armada 1750 which has all I could wish for in a 1999 laptop. Except one thing - can we make it even better?

Yes, lack of active matrix and L2 cache are the major drawbacks of my model of G3 Walstreet - the Armada performs really well.

Just subscribed,i have the same laptop and it's a beast for every retro game from dosnto win 98 eraly 3d games , i have a lot of ati 3dcif games also like Wipeout and tombraider

nice laptop :D i have this a ibm version 770x and 770z my coolection :) only difrence for 770x 333mhz p2 770z 366mhz p2 :)

For network, I think you have to have the SystemSoft drivers resident before loading the packet driver. I can try it out on my Armada 1750 and see how it goes. Also, if you need it, I have a procedure for installing Windows for Workgroups 3.11 on these, complete with drivers!

Thanks, that would be great! I couldn't figure out why the packet driver wouldn't load. And resources for Windows for Workgroups 3.11 sound awesome - I would very much like to try that on the Armada.
