Compare it! Jaguar XKR vs. the BMW 650i | Drive it!

Two luxury convertibles go head to head.This time we compare the open-top versions of the Jaguar XKR and BMW 650i. The 6-series convertible's motor delivers 300 kilowatts of power, while the Jaguar's produces 375 kilowatts. This helps the Jag rocket from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds -- 2 tenths of a second faster than the Bimmer. But this high performance comes at a price. the XKR is to me the most beautiful car ever. the wood and leather inside are incredible. the supercharged engine lights up like afterburners on a jet. its so sleek and classy. AND THE TRUNK is huge look again at the video. Its really nice to drive slow with the top down and cool music knowing you can go really fast. (mine lives under cover only taken out on perfect days for fun driving only)

The XKR is much better than the 650 in terms of fuel consumption too.

I don't these cars are comparable in any sense. The BMW is more common, cheaper to run and insure and more practical with more seat room and boot room. The Jaguar is more exclusive with a higher build quality, aluminium body, better paintwork and more rewarding to drive. If both cars were looked after, in 50 years time the BMW would be worth nothing but the Jaguar would still be very desirable - because it looks gorgeous.

True, it’s a bad comparison, should have compared the the 5.0 XK for a fair comparison, and I’d still take the Jaguar but the BMW is quick though.
