I compare my fastest and Sergi's fastest laps from the #TORCS race last weekend. We both rode in 250F C and he placed 9th while I placed 18th.

Wow, this is amazing! Loved the breakdown! I am far from an expert, but trusting the tires going into the corners comes down to sitting on the gas tank and putting your inner leg forward. For getting on the throttle earlier, put all the weight you can on the outer peg. And just let it flow! Additionally, I like to ride with low tire pressure, around 10 psi. Anything higher and I don't trust the tires. And finally, and this is where I'm lacking, is getting in shape. There are a lot of times where I feel like I could go faster, but I can't because I need to pace myself or I am already exhausted. Can't wait for the next race!

I normally do 10.5 psi for the woods races, but since this one was more open I put it up to 12.5 psi. I’m pretty good at weighting the outside peg, but I always forget to slide to the outside of the seat going into a flat turn as I’m sliding forward. I definitely need to get in shape. Hit a wall after the third lap.

Cool video. I liked how you broke it down into the different sections and type of sections. I think it can help you pinpoint what to work on.

I wish we could see the speed so we would know for sure when he started braking. Also I wonder if he uses his front brake? Have you ever tried counter steering in the open fast sections? Just a thought but great video idea. I did the same race and did 3 laps 20 minutes average, so I am looking for answers too. I feel that if my fitness was better I could improve.

I have the mph data from my watch, but didn’t ask him if he had any. Maybe next time. I’ve never tried counter steering on my dirt bike. I see the MX pros doing it going into turn 1 but never tried it. Getting in shape is the same for me. That and staying aggressive the whole race. I lost about 40 seconds in sections 1 & 7 by simply not riding more aggressive.
