All nice horns. E-1 sounded the darkest of the three on the Grainger. The E-3 was clearly my favorite. Thanks for posting Dave!

I vote E-1. Smoooooth. I know the player does a dandy job on all three. Thanks David.

The 2 and 3 seemed to make the room resonate a bit more.

I personally like the E-2 for comfort, and E-3 for sound.

The only thing I could differentiate was that the E3 felt like it had a bit more "oomph" or a tiiiiiny bit more focus, for the rest they sounded identical to me

The E-3 is fine, I guess, but I still vastly prefer their five valve non-compensating model. I really wish that one had a long tone 5th instead of a two step, though, and wish they were all a bit less pricy.

Very helpful comparison. I really would love to get an Adams custom one day. I currently play on my Yamaha 842 Custom. I would like to hear some comparison with the Sonic non compensating with a compensating!

Here is a quick comparison of the Sonic non-comp and the standard E1 compensating: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2Slan5tfsposNU

I liked the E-1 the best

That's why they make 3 models! The 1, 2, 3 designations are not good/better/best, but simply represent the order they were designed in. Gary Curtin of Foden's (brass) Band in England chose the E1, for example.

Thanks, Dave! I like short comparison videos like this. Does Lee Elder's The Brass Shop have a web site?

Yes he does: www.thebrass-stop.com/

Which Adams model would be generally recommended as a good compromise between band playing and solo playing for an (optimistically speaking ) intermediate musician?
@dwerden2 жыл бұрын
That might be the E2. It is relatively compact, but still has great projection. I prefer the E3, but its sound might be too large/broad for all uses.
