The Illumicrate edition is gorgeous, when mine arrived I couldn’t stop looking at it. I finished my Waterstones edition last weekend, I fell in love with Gabe. I loved the twists and thought it was much better than Nevernight - and I loved that series. Cannot wait for book two! Really hope we get a EOTV reading vlog!

I'm currently about half way through and absolutely loving it! The illumicrate edition is absolutely stunning, I don't normally shelf any of my books pages-out but those edges are just so gorgeous I couldn't not. I can't stop staring at them!

I’m in the middle of a special edition copy from an Aussie bookseller that is a very floppy trade paperback that has a red background and is signed - it’s very pretty 🤩 I love the Goldsboro one!

I have read the book and ohmygoodness it is amazing! I loved every second of it!! I really hope you enjoy it when you get around to it!!! My favorite edition of the ones I currently have (US std., Illumicrate, and Waterstones) is absolutely the Illumicrate edition. However, purple is my favorite color and I tried so hard to get a GB edition.

I think my favorite is the Goldsboro edition although the stenciled edges on the Illumicrate are stunning.

You will definitely like this book, I think myself that it is the best writing to have come from Jay. It is straight away a favourite book of all time for me and I predict the same for the whole series 🖤

Illumicrate wins hands down. Will read the Libby book when it’s available. If I love it & want to continue the series then a will buy a tradeback edition.

I am halfway through EOTV. I love the Illumicrate edition the best. I am reading my Barnes and Noble edition to not mess up my Illumicrate edition. I do like the Goldsboro edition as well.

Have read it and I absolutely loved it. I have the Illumicrate edition but didn't want to risk damaging it so bought the stand edition to read, which is something I've never done before, but it was too damn gorgeous to risk it!!!

I love the Illumicrate edition!! Finished EoTV last week, and it was fantastic!! ups and downs and twists and turns with a fantastic plot. I was hungry for more with every chapter.

I finished Empire Of The Vampire yesterday during Pris's sprints. It was my first Jay Kristoff and I loved it! I got the US edition and it wasn't on my radar until the discord chat so I got lucky finding a signed edition at my local independent bookstore. I like the silver one you opened but not a huge fan of the purple edges.

Great review with lots of quality. I really liked the fight scenes too and agree that there was a big focus on love, friendship, and family. I'd heard that comparison to Name of the Wind before too, but haven't read it. I thought it read sort of like Interview with the Vampire by Rice. Sometimes I think he's wanting to redefine the genre after Rice romanticized with that book because this is definitely not a romantic view of of vampires. But these thoughts are just my crazy wheels turning, lol.

I don't buy multiple editions of books. that being said I pre-ordered the waterstones edition a long time ago and then after it was releases I could not help but also buy the indigo exculive one because it had colour endpage art

Read it last month and absolutely loved it. I got the Waterstones edition but would have loved the Goldsboro edition, think I’m in the minority but I don’t like the Illumicrate edition.

Yeah! I got my EOTV from Illumicrate and then I decided to order an Indigo exclusive edition to actually read cause there is no way I am cracking the IC version open! For my eyes only hahhahah 🤩🤩🤩

I got all the same 4 that you did and illumicrate is definitely my favourite 😍 I was a bit disappointed with the FP one, for some reason I thought it had sprayed edges because I didn’t read it properly 🤦🏼‍♀️

I got the illumicrate one and it’s un-freaking-believable. No way I can bring myself to actually read it 😅. I’ve never read a jay kristoff book, and I’m a little scared this will be too gory for me. I’m excited to see what you think of it before getting a standard edition to read

Illumicrate sent me a defective copy (under the dust jacket the embossing was not only upside down but it was reversed) and they won't reship me a new copy until the end of October so I won't get mine until November most likely 😭 And with all these book shortages and shipping delays, I'm really nervous I wont get my replacement at all. I've got the exclusive illustrated edition from Barnes&Nobel, and about 122 pages in. I'm enjoying it very very much, I don't want to put it down, but one must adult. And doing my best not to look ahead at the art because spoilers!

I don’t understand why they class the pin as a bonus item, it’s just an item if you include it

I think it's because it's always included so the box is a book, 4-5 bookish items AND a pin. The pin isn't one of the 4-5 items you recieve

I’m SO SAD I couldn’t get my hands on any of the special editions (especially the illumicrate one, my god) but I ended up getting the standard UK edition which I’m happy with because the American one is an absolute eye sore. It looks like the cover of a bad video game. Ultimately no matter what the book looks like, this book was one of my favorites of the year. Might be number 1. I needed the sequel yesterday.

My good I just realized that you are right about the US edition. Luckily I bought my copy from the Librarian box which came with a really stunning custom dust jacket with Gabe on it as well as the standard cover.

The UK covers are beautiful, the US version is kinda ugly. The Illumicrate is hands down gorgeous. I read it on Kindle, but I think I'm going to put the Illumicrate on my 'when I win the lottery' list as it's OOP I'm sure and being sold for exorbitant amounts on eBay.
