3 and 4!! Are beautiful.. followed by 2 and then 1. But 4 is my first choice!

#4 while bright and refractive was also pale in color and in the spotlight and sunlight was very green. #3 also had a green cast to it. My favorite was #1. I loved the rich color.

#1 would be my first pick, 4 my second, then 2, then 3. They are all gorgeous. It wouldn't change my mind but I'd love to know what order they are in in terms of monetary value.

I’m looking at this from a view of desirability, not value or what a “true” sapphire should look like. I will choose #4 because of its transparency & how it reflects the light. Very beautiful indeed. #4 my final answer
@seegreyhoundrun5 жыл бұрын
#4 for its sparkle and its color.
@DiamondInfoMan12 жыл бұрын
For me it'd be a toss up. I love the depth of color and tone/hue of #1 & 2 but the transparency and sparkle of #4 is just outstanding. =P The decision for the end user here is based off of what they would prefer most. Depth of color = #1 or #2. Transparency/scintillation = #4

#4 is my favorite. I liked the richness of color in #2, but I love the transparency and light refraction on #4. Which one is the more expensive of those two?

Hi Rebekah, Thanks for your question. Of the lot that we had acquired these 4 were actually pretty comparable in value. No astronomical difference.

I agree with you. #2 deep blue is perfect but, I would long for #4 because of the sparkle. The sparkle overrides the deep blue because #4 is a pretty blue ➕ it has the shimmer; shine. ❤
@kertbert18 жыл бұрын
#2 looks best for me and then I like #4 because of the internal reflection. I don't mind that lighter blue. After that #1 because of the royal blue over the lighter blue.

When it comes to colored gemstones [sapphire is one] color is the MOST important factor in determining value. The blue color of stones #1 and #2 are more valuable than the grey modified blue in stones #3 and #4. The sparkle of stone #4 is due to its cut & polish. If I was to price these stones I would have to compare weight v. face up dimensions since they are so close. The ideal stone would be the color of #2 with the cut & polish of #4 -my preference. However, the sleepiness of #2 is much preferred by many people-as in Kashmir Sapphire, the most beautiful of all blue sapphires.

Just saw this video... You never shared which of them was priced highest. Am curious if gemologist price color saturation higher than transparency and scintilation.

My first pick would be #1 then #2 although #2 looks a bit darker. The color of these first two looks more saturated. #3 i noticed at one point very slight greenish hue and both number #3 and #4 seem too light, rather like a beep blue aquamarine color. You said in the video you would reveal the values later but you never did. Would you care to share? Thanks.

Right from the start I liked 2 and 4 the best. I really don't see any difference in which one is better. I imagine a good jeweller would look at them as a painter would look at 2 different colours of paint. one will be better for expressing certain artistic visions one better for others. I love the deep mysterious quality of #2 - that you can't see to the bottom, it is like a deep beautiful ocean. On the other hand, the beautiful watery color and sparkle of # 4 is so bright and beautiful, refreshing dazzling and pure, but it doesn't have the richness and mistique of #2.

#2 all the way. the colour is superior. #3 and #4 are too light. I've noticed that larger sapphire stones tend to be in these colour ranges. I've been looking at the videos from "Certified Jewelry" and they have a series of expensive sapphire cocktail rings featuring the lighter sapphires. I prefer the colour of Princess Diana's engagement sapphire.

I agree I from these views personally like #2 then #1 with #3 & #4 being too greenish for me when I consider a what color a blue sapphire should be. Although, ignoring the color #3 & #4 have beautiful transparency. Are #3 & #4 Montana sapphires?

4,3, 1, 2. I love the cut and clarity of #4. It just pops. #3 isn't far behind, but doesn't have the same clarity. #1 isn't bad on clarity, but the color reminds me of cobalt glass, as does #2. For some reason, I didn't feel they were as polished as #3 & 4.

Gem number four definately has the best colour and transparency, but the cut angles on the pavillion are wrong in that they are not deep enough making it a little windowy / fish eye in the centre of the stone. Re-cutting the gem to possibly a 1.5ct stone would increase it's value purely on clarity and brilliance

hello good day and happy new year may i ask you. Do you think that the presidium multi tester 3 can be used to test Shappires in this case blue Sapphires I use it on rough Sapphires it is blue but the green light comes as if it were diamond that is why it is my question do you think that the professional tester of this result or have you ever done it
@DiamondInfoMan2 жыл бұрын
Hello. That's a great question.. I have two Presidium testers in my store, but they are the (diamond mate A and C) versions. So although technically not an apples-to-apples comparison, I'd expect we'd both be receiving similar readings for the most part. I used both our testers on genuine sapphires and the meter went 99% of the way up. But it did not cross over to identify them as diamonds. Usually, it's all or nothing with these machines (meaning the meter says diamond or doesn't move at all). But sapphires seem to be one of the rare outliers that register pretty high up on the meter, but don't cross over into the diamond territory. In your case and given the slightly different readings your receiving, I'd assuming that you either have a blue diamond or more likely a genuine sapphire. Perhaps the Presidium multi tester 3 struggles to identify the difference in this scenario compared to some of the other testers they offer that are more diamond focused? Hope that helps to answer your questions or come to a better understanding.

@@DiamondInfoMan I thank you very much and you got me out of a doubt because I had a huge doubt about that tester and it may be that it is a diamond. but we are talking about a 6-pound, light blue diamond, and if there are several embedded in that matrix, it could be like that. I hope it's diamond The hardness is also high. You tell me what other proof I need to put an end to the truth. some special liquid that corroborates that it is or is not a diamond

You're welcome. Without the proper equipment, it's going to be hard to know for sure. We'd be happy to take a look at it, but if you don't live near the New York area, perhaps you can bring it to your local jewelry store and see if they are able to determine what it is?

@@DiamondInfoMan yes that's fine. I live in New Haven Connecticut there are several jewels but it is something to walk with tremendous stones. The more expensive sapphire out of them 4 is the 1st and 2nd. The more transparent sapphires are as not considered more valuable, there is a myth though the darker the stone the more value it holds that is a myth the middle shade between light and dark stone are the most valuable sapphire.
