Thanks Annie - it was really fun adding my $.02. Also worth noting that there were things on sale that weren't labeled as such. Such as 2 for 1 pasta and 100 pesos off the nuts I bought. So it's worth understanding when shopping. Thx for letting me share my thoughts and opinions. Definitely similar to Costco in the ice cream and candy sections! Cheers

Hi Annie. Thanks for comparing Landers and S&R in a manner of speaking. As an American Ex-pat living in Davao City, I still find S&R better overall since it has many American brands in what I am most interested in as a health freak. For example, I like shelled nuts but found fewer of them in Landers. I also like Planters dry-roasted peanuts, but I did not see any Planters in Landers. In fact, I had never heard of the brand Landers had. When I buy pasta, I only buy Barilla, which you showed in Landers and I saw. Your guest noted it was more expensive, but that's because it is a far superior brand to the one your guest compared it to. At least that is what my Italian wife in the US claimed, and she should know about the quality of pasta. I will pay for quality any day of the week when it comes to food. S&R does not have the selection in Barilla that Lander's has, however. I liked the quality of chicken in Landers compared to what is in S&R. As a health freak I go for frozen vegetables and fruit. The comparison of vegetables was even, but I liked seeing a berry mixture of blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries in Landers. The mixture goes great with my rolled-oats oatmeal for breakfast. It's both yummy and nutritious. I forgot to check the frozen fish in Landers, so I do not whether it carries frozen wild-caught Alaskan salmon as S&R does. I only buy wild-caught salmon since farm-raised Atlantic salmon is grossly inferior nutritionally. Thanks for showing your comparison. Incidentally, your camera person moved the camera too fast at times to make out what you wanted to show.

yeah, they have lots of different brand but more choices of frozen pizza in S&R like goodfellas,digiorno and ect and also davao has lots of pizza places that you can east.

Nice video, Annie. Landers seems to have some similarities to Costco as its a warehouse and bulk quantity seller. Notable differences are that only half of a typical Costco warehouse is food, the other half of the store is clothing and other household items. Landers has substantially more variety in its food offerings than Costco, and the brands are more different than the same. Between S&M and Landers, i think most westerners would be mostly covered there in Davao for bulk groceries.

Hi Annie. Good video. As I am from Canada and not living in the Philippines I have been to Costco, Landers and S&R. I find some items more expensive and some cheaper. I think overall your total at these stores would be about the same with some of the price differences. I have not done a lot of shopping at any of these places as you need a membership or go with someone that has a membership and it is mostly for people with large families and lots of storage space. In the area I lived in Canada there was another club store that sold in bulk but also had a lot of single items. On the single items the more you buy the better the price. It was also like the other bulk stores some things cheaper some more expensive but I shopped there more due to the selection of some items. Keep smiling and stay safe

S&R Carries Some Kirkland Brand Products But It's Not Owned By Costco, S&R Is Actually Owned By PureGold Corporation Which Is Owned By Cosco Corporation (Owned By The Co Family) Which Is Different Than Costco , Costco Is A Shareholder Owned Company ! Hi Annie, i used to live in Quezon City and Montalban on Luzon but now here in Communal Davao. I have Landers membership but i find that i still prefer S&R. When I go to Manila, I go to S&R which has more variety than the one here.

I have been to a couple of Landers and they had gas stations. Seems to me when you cash out they give you a voucher to use at the gas pumps but don't remember the amount. For sure it was not a lot. I don't know about the one in Davao but I am sure they are like Costco most stores would have gas as well.

They don’t compare for sure but they are better than nothing if you live in the Philippines. I was glad to see they had that to know I can at least get some of the things I will miss from home.
