I enjoy your videos! I'm the car/driver whisperer on this years CAM T National Championship car. Couple of comments: 1. McStruts need -5 degrees minimum. Still going to need -4 minimum for SLA. 2. 10.5 wheels are best within the range of 255, 265, or 275mm. TireRack lists the conservative industry standard for street cars, to avoid tire/wheel curb rash damage. Also, these extreme performance tires run a size bigger than a regular street tire, thus can handle a wider rim.

-4 still for an SLA?! Yikes. My current design I think is going to allow -3.5 camber.

@@RinerAutomotive Brent and Emery ran -3.5 until Nats because easy to flatspot tires without ABS, then maxed it out @ -4, so you'll be fine, just not ideal. With proper camber, psi, and suspension geometry you should wear out inside tread before outer shoulder, so no more need to remount tires anymore! B.Good Racing didn't have a motor with big power, so driver mod and handling was WAY more important, at least on those two courses!

Interesting. Thanks for the info. Currently only on phase 1 of SLA design/build anyway. If testing determines need more then I'll build more. Fun part of R&D

They were on Yokos, which need a ton of camber and wide wheels. My favorite tires are Kumho V730”s, which don’t need as much camber and wheel, are inexpensive, lasts long, but don’t come in big sizes other than 305 19’s. I also like the new Nexen N’Fera Sport R’s.

I'm planning on running 295s square on my fox. It's SN95 width MM in front and built IRS out back with 2" flares, so I'll be curious to hear what you go with.

Awesome video. I just came to the same conclusion with the falkens. Mine had plenty of tread left but felt like I didn't have any grip. Probably heat cycled out. Bought a new set before the last event I attended and it made all the difference.

How old were they or know how many runs got before heat cycled?

@@RinerAutomotive I bought them in 2021, they were my front tires for the whole season about 60 ish runs, then I put them on my rear for the 2022 season, which was 50 ish runs. Plus 3k miles to and from events, little bit of daily driving, and 2 sessions at vir.

@@RinerAutomotive Looking back at it, I really feel like they were done by the beginning of the 2022 season. I struggled for rear grip all year.

Hopefully you are still replying to comments since this is a year old now.... How are the sidewall stiffness different from each? I know the RT660's are known for being very stiff, thus giving great initial turn-in and high speed stability. I currently have the Yoko AD09's on my 718 GT4 which also have a stiff sidewall, and I love that feeling, but I read the Grassroots review of the CR-S and they say the sidewalls are kind of soft and softer than the Yoko A052's (which are also pretty soft).

Best for 10.5 is 275/285 min 265 max 295 I would used 265/275
