This review was so helpful. What I also liked to see is the tire wear after more than 1 year of track days. Thank you so much!

Awesome! I’ve been excited to try these since they were announced ages ago. Unfortunately roll out for everything is slower in Australia. Great to know they’re somewhere between the RE71 and A052, but wet grip is more like an RS4. Also that they flick a lot of debris, that was really helpful. I’m currently running RS4 on my GRY and R33 and get really long life from them without destroying my paintwork. I want to go a touch faster but given the lifespan and ease of daily use I get from the RS4 I can’t stomach the cost factor. I think your review shows me I can afford to have a second set of wheels and run the CRS as a track only set as they’re a lot cheaper than the competitor 2. Let’s hope the CRS get me that extra second I’m looking for. Cheers!

Ya. Rs4 life is still the best I think. Just a bit less grip and harder tire.

Great review, been waiting to get those in Europe. One misconception about contact patch here - a wider tire changes the contact patch marginally, eg going 10% wider doesn't automatically mean a 10% contact patch size increase. What you gain is heat management since the contact patch is dynamic under load and that is where the faster times come from when people go wider, given they were previously "heat limited". If they weren't, they lose time since they can't get the tire up to temp any more. Seems like a soft-med 245 is the sweet spot for our cars, also I'm pretty sure (depending on setup, of course) the front could comfortably stay at a 205 looking at tire performance and wear from my last season (A052, 205F 225R).

@@TougeTime in My K24 Powered MRS in Time Attack i Use A052 255\40\17 on rear and 225\40\15 on Front. I found this setup as most effective one, and it also depends on the track configuration i think.

New Nexen comes in 245/40/15. Tested it in 48 degree weather....quick with incredible braking.

I wonder if they changed the compound from early last year because I've seen different with the CR-S. Remember an Audi TT showed up to a Champ Tour with 6 of these CR-S tires. It was also a dual driver car and every run, they would swap out the front tires and the driver not driving would spray down the ones that were just off the car. They did win the STH class but it was insane to watch them do all that. I did talk with them and they told me they overheated way faster than the A052s.

Thanks for the detailed review, would be cool to share with us how the steering feel is like vs the rt660 when you get those too.

The CR-S has better steering responds and under braking. Yet the Yokohama is still king of the 200tw

RT660 (205/50R15) are my first 200tw, but I really like them so far. Curious to see what your opinion is since you have more experience with different tires. They seem to do great for autox.

Did you ever run ar1's? I had a feeling you did? If you did how do these compare? Though ar1's here are 80tw.. yes fun in the rain.

I drove them but haven't run them. Don't have enough long term experience but they seem almost same as 200tw.

Are you still running the same alignment settings on the track? Also what's your pinch weld height?

Yes. And idk. It's just adjusted for the bumpstop engagement and roll center
