A fantastic video 👍 3 fine Hammond organs with the same Tonewheel Generator and layout of controls differentiated only by the cabinet they are dressed in. The 'Leslie effect' with the A100 through an amp was great but not sure if this was true and fair comparison considering that the C3 & B3 were going through a real Leslie but it does demonstrate the realism of the Leslie effect. They are all winners 👍👍👍

That A-100 is screaming!!! It really has the effects and it’s so deep, dark, and rich!! I love the bite!!! A Leslie would set that off!!!

Glad you liked it! We have other Hammond A-100 organs in stock to which we can add a Leslie or a Leslie effect. We sometimes sell the A-100's without a Leslie or a Leslie effect but with the interface kit installed to add a Leslie at a future date.

As a former Minister of Music, my preference is the B-3 w/Leslie speakers

They all sound great but I think it's obvious which organ is the best........ the B3.
@KeyboardExchange12 күн бұрын
This B3 is special and I agree with you. It was my favorite also. However, there are times when a C3 might sound just as good. The potential for a B3, C3 or A-100 is equal in my opinion as they are made with the same internal parts and the restoration process and protocol are the same within our shop. So....what makes the difference? Acoustics in the setting? Variations in tubes and other parts? Even the position of the recording mikes and distance from the Leslie? There are literally hundreds of variables. Some have suggested thousands of variables. Therefore when seeking the best sounding Hammond Leslie for your situation, we strongly suggest visiting our store to play 8 or 10 instruments in the same location. Most Hammonds with Leslies will sound really good if there is nothing around to compare with the one you are able to find and play. We hope these videos are helpful and useful to make a wise decision when it comes time to make your selection

I love all the Hammonds, but there is just something aestheticlly pleasing about the B-3. It just looks beautiful in all It's glory.

Wish I could play. No, no, I'm too old to learn. Really. But, I love your videos and the sound of a B3 and Leslie!

Here is a video to make playing a bit easier for a beginner >>>kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXW5ZZp5hpKmhrM Playing along with others is easier then just playing yourself so pay attention to our videos where we teach you to play along with others playing on KZbin. I do this myself just for fun at home and wanted to share this with our viewers. Many thanks for listening! One more thought....as we get older, and I am in that club also, it is important to keep our minds engaged with new and interesting information. I could go into greater detail but that is the heart of what I have learned. Stay engaged, learn new things, read, learn to play music or whatever holds your interest. I you like the lesson video. Let us know.

The D152 is is the best
@KeyboardExchange11 күн бұрын
We have recently sold a D-152 that will get be shipped to California when the restoration is completed. Do you have a D-152? It was in fact, the most expensive model when selling new in showrooms with B3, C3 and A-100 models as it had the most features and even 32 bass pedals like the RT-3. B3, C3 and A-100 models have 25 bass pedals. The D-152 is even more deluxe than the RT-3 ( both feature 32 concave bass pedals) which is the same except, the D-152 has self-contained speakers. The RT-3 requires and external speaker. The majority of Hammond organ players are accustomed to the 25 bass pedals and therefore not comfortable with 32 bass pedals. Pipe organists who are accustomed to 32 bass pedals are often not a fan of Hammond organs in general.

Although when I heard the A100 playing through the speakers, I did like the bass coming out but I prefer playing the Hammond through the Leslie. Some churches also uses the Neo-Ventilator.

We need to get another A-100 ready as # 430 was just delivered to a home where it fits nicely. So much better to have the Leslie effect then not to have it. It add SO much to the tone! Thanks for commenting!

The A-100 did sound good considering it was not going through a Leslie. I really liked the sound. But of course I would rather have the Leslie.
@KeyboardExchange7 күн бұрын
We agree but the built in Leslie effect is so much better that without it if space is limited. Thanks for commenting!

They sound great but they didn't sound the way I remembered when I played them or heard others. I think the settings were a little hard-toned; the mellow tones i hear some switch to, i never heard here. And I was a little surprised the playing kept sounding so staccato. No legato, or hardly
@KeyboardExchange7 күн бұрын
The tone settings were likely made to be a little more crisp as part of our normal restoration process and to make the sounds more distinguishable for you while watching this video.

great player, guess I dont get it, they are all the same exact organ except for the cabinet
@KeyboardExchange10 күн бұрын
Actually you DO get it! You have confirmed the point we are trying to make. The main difference is the cabinet however there are a few other differences. Those differences are style, cost and affordability, personal preferences, availability. Another point we are trying to make is that our store offers ALL these options to that our customers have choices. All these models have the same potential to sound great and be enjoyed so we offer all these models knowing there is no bad choice. An A-100 purchased today can be traded in at a later date toward a B3 or C3 if that is desired.
@wmrg10579 күн бұрын
A technical description of what was different would help. Did the C-3 have the bass extension? Full peddle board or abbreviated. ...
@KeyboardExchange8 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment. The model B3, C3 and A-100 all use the same 25 note pedal board. The internal parts are the same however the A-100 has additional parts which include internal speakers and a reverb amp with speaker. The A-100 is considered a two channel instrument with the second cannel being the reverb. The keyboards, drawbars, preamp, tone generator are the same within a given year of production. Some differences will occur between these models if you are, for example, comparing a 1957 B3 with a 1969 C3. The internal parts may have been supplied by a different manufacturer and small parts develop and change a bit over the course of time----decades in this case. Hope this helps to clarify. We have more than 1000 more videos on our channel: Jim Huss, Keyboard Exchange International

What?? no D152?? 😂
@KeyboardExchange7 күн бұрын
Actually we do have one D-152 in stock that is in the process of restoration and will soon be shipping to a client in California. The D-152 features 32 bass pedals for those who may not know, and is similar to the RT-3 model Hammond but with the addition of self-contained speakers. The models with 32 bass pedals were more expensive than a B3, or C3 when new but are not as popular these days and most players are more familiar with the 25 pedal notes on a B3m C3 or A-100. Those that like 32 bass pedals do not always appreciate a Hammond organ as you may, and we do also.
