Been nice if the camera was focused on what you were doing and moving.

I've heard that most of the current cam systems that allow let-off adjustment add draw length as one increases the let-off. If you can get one of your buds to assist, I'd be very interested to see you do a follow-up on this video where you adjust the let-off to 80 %, pull into the back wall and have your friend put a pencil mark on the arrow shaft where it sits on the rest; then adjust the let-off to 85 % and repeat the process. If you're picking up a quarter or half-inch in draw length as you increase the let-off, that might explain why you're not seeing a change in speed. I did notice that you said the valley felt a little shorter at 80% let-off. Good video, I subscribed today.

It won't be anywhere near 1/4-1/2" but it's possible it could increase 1/32, maybe 1/16. Either way my VXR is also faster with 85% mods than with 80%.

@@bmills231that makes no sense. Should be faster with lower let off.
@joshuabates47593 жыл бұрын
I have no hands on testing or proof of this, but my logic on the difference: The way the let-off is changed is by moving the cam stop only. This means, to achieve the 80%, it stops the cam rollover at that point, with a short valley. For 85%, it would be moved to a position where the cam rollover would go just a touch further, allowing more let-off. This would mean it would have that longer valley, as well as a touch longer draw length. Which, also means, that the cam has a little longer cycle, therefore, the higher let-off on this cam, changed by moving the stop, should always have higher speed with everything else being equal.

Very good information I have an older Hoyt XT 2000 and watching your videos has helped me between purchasing a Torrex or Torrex xt which I went with the xt thanks to your help I’m really looking forward to seeing more of your videos always helpful looks like I might be getting a ventum 30 in the near future

Glad to see someone else headed down the same path I am! I have a 99 magnate redline. Finally upgrading, and will be going with the torrex xt as well!

The draw length gets a tad shorter when you change the let off on these cams. Anything from the let off gets negated but the dl change.

I prefer having to hold a little extra weight.. like you said, it helps wrt form. That reason alone is enough for me. My bow is 75%, and i don't have the slightest inkling to increase let-off. My target bow is 70%, and that's fine too - although that bow maxxes out at 55lbs, so i ain't holding much anyway.
@JBASH20113 жыл бұрын
This is common. You are reducing the draw length at the same time you are reducing the letoff. A different module, programmed for 80% letoff, would be needed to see a speed increase at the same exact draw length.
@bmills2313 жыл бұрын
Not always. My VXR is faster with 85% mods than 80%. No change in draw length. It still doesn't make sense to me but it is what it is.

I'm actually disappointed that there wasn't a speed increase.I changed let off on my hyperforce and picked up 13 fps.268 fps at 85% a nice jump 281 fps at 80% .but this bow is super quiet.

Thanks for this video. I have been trying to decide whether it is worth it to get 80% mods. This is the first true comparison that I’ve seen. I would love to know if it’s the same on the Mathews v3.
