I don’t think we're doing Ant any favors by putting Jordanesque expectations on him. I saw him play live a few weeks ago. He'd great, but that night, inconsistent at scoring. He'll only get better though, imo. (And even the best have off nights.) Ant reminded me more of D. Wade. I do hope he matures past coming out before games to dance on opponents' logos and trash talking the home crowds. Let your game talk, Ant. I'm a big fan of trash talking, but direct it at the players. He should get some tips from Larry. lol! The face of the NBA? Too soon for that. I can't wait to see this guy play more as he gets older!

Stop it please, I'm boring to see and hear this... Maybe are fisical similarities between Anthony Edwards and MJ, the mental factor is the difference here, Jordan is in other level, even though when he was a young guy, remember with just 24 or 25 years old, he stands up almost alone against the '86 Boston Celtics and give it to them 63 points in playoffs, in the mithical Boston Garden... And right now, when I though that Anthony Edwards could be a real thing, eliminating the Nuggets, now he melt off against the Mavs with two bad games, you can have a bad game, but two!!! Maybe the comparing him to MJ is affecting him, so stop doing that and just expect for the best with this young fella!

I am cheering for Anthony Edwards because like Jokic, Giannis, and Luka, he has the individual competitive fire rather than classless, bushleague colluding frauds that have been the generation between Kobe and the aforementioned four. However, even though it is still very early in stage of Edwards' career, when compared to a very early MJ, the former has been far less efficient of a shooter in the mid-range despite playing a far less of defensive league and lack of dominant shot blockers to challenge him at the rim (one less now that Gobert is on his team), as well as the lack killer instinct on defense. This is all despite playing with good teammates (KAT, Gobert, Conley, Reid, D'Angelo) compared to Jordan (Woolridge was the only positive Box Plus Minus player in MJ's first 4 seasons, which included the dominant rebounding Oakley). Edwards was amazing in the Suns series this year, but as the Nuggets and Mavericks have shown so far, he was helped by the Suns' absolutely dumpster fire of a defense.

Edwards' got that kind of game: a shooting guard that can jump and glide in the air, no fear to attack the paint and the center, the mid range .... a scorer. Its not only MJ; Kobe, Drexler, Carter, Mcgrady...lot of players with these features; but MJ was the tougher competitor ever and a leader... give the kid a break; at 22 Jordan had the Olympic Gold ( not difficult for a US player) but was yet kicked out on first playoff round

Hell to the NO! They aren´t even close and I ain´t even a MJ fan. They only look similar on the court but are not the same. You can´t compare a Kia to a Merc. Mike was arguably the best offensive player, one of the best defensive players, best finisher at the rim, best post up player, best mid range shooter and had an unstopable move. The only thing he was average at was the 3 point shot. At the time he started taking more 3´s he shot 34% while league´s avg was 34%. Edwards on the other side shoots 35,5% from the 3 while league avg is at around 39%. SO we can throw that out of the window right now. But still, Edwards is an amazing player with enormously huge potential. Hope he stays healthy and can avoid any major injury.

I think we need to look at this from a different angle. The reason why Ant stands out is because noone in the league (for the last decade plus) has played the SG/SF spot with the aggressiveness that started with MJ (aside from near retirement Kobe). In saying that, let's start with comparing Ant to the list of "next Michael Jordan's" who were directly descended from MJ himself Harold Miner, Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, Jerry Stackhouse, to a certain extent Allen Iverson, Kobe, Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Dwayne Wade, Derrick Rose, etc. That's just off the top of my head. Who on that list does Ant knock off before everyone starts comparing him to MJ himself? Harold Miner? Maybe Stackhouse (he was a beast at one point) Coming from an oldhead, stop worrying about GOATS and comparing these guys to past players and just enjoy them for who they are....my 2 cents

One of things that make MJ above all others is his fierce competitiveness. It was extreme of extreme. What I’m seeing in Ant in this Dallas series is that if MJ got embarrassed in a game, he would be tenacious and beat you BADLY in the next game. He was like that even as a rookie. Ant doesn’t have that characteristic. Sorry but Ant is no MJ. Athletically players will be close to MJ. Being both offensive and defensive as dynamic as MJ, there might be few who come close. But there won’t be any player who have MJ’s mental toughness.

MJ is different ... @ 23 MJ is all about driving the ball and did some amazing stuff.. breaking down double team.... for me Edwards sometimes shoot too much 3s and this Mavs series he didnt break that double team instead always passing the ball... he is more young wade to me than MJ... Kobe game is still the closest to MJ IMO

How many 3 point plays did Jordan end up with? Two point basket, the foul shot, and a foul for the opponent. That's the best 3 point game

Its not a good comparison MJ is the greatest of his era, put that pressure on that guy could make it fall on desperation and you don't want that or even frustration, so he's a great basketball player and hopes he continues growing but we don't know if he can follow MJ footsteps, that's probably too much

Anthony Edwards has had too many playoff games with 30% shooting and/or scoring 19 or less points. He's nice but MJ comparisons are too soon. Media is thirsty for the next MJ and they anointed Ant too soon. Luka or Jayson Tatum might be this year's Finals MVP.

Lots of players try to copycat MJ cuz he’s the GOAT. Normal to have similar moves. Maybe a DNA test will prove if there’s any other connection cuz a lot of people do see the physical looking similarities.

I think that anyone even with a very little knowledge can understand that the comparison is beyond ridiculous, anyone besides Shaq that is as he was trying to make the case with Charles, but there is no case, his style and attitude resembles MJ's but the comparison ends there, I love him and he gets me excited about the next 15 years of his career, but MJ was on another level at any point in hi career, yes he is a better 3 point shooter but let's not pretend that his 36% from 3 is so much impressive than MJ's 32,5% as MJ was an average 3 point shooter in his time as Ant is an average 3 point shooter in his, let's see him win 5 season mvp at least 8 scoring titles an 5 rings in the next 12 years while keeping this attitude and not turning on LeBlame and we will talk!!!!

MJ and Kobe would lock down Luka. Luka is basically unguardable right now since we don't have players at the level of the two aforementioned any longer. Ant is very guardable. Honestly, Naz Reid might be the best player on the Wolves right now. With Ant, we see shades of MJ or Kobe like 1% of the time. But without consistency, it's little more than a gimmick at this point. Ant would have to get like 90% better to be anywhere near MJ.
