I am cheering for Anthony Edwards because like Jokic, Giannis, and Luka, he has the individual competitive fire rather than classless, bushleague colluding frauds that have been the generation between Kobe and the aforementioned four. However, even though it is still very early in stage of Edwards' career, when compared to a very early MJ, the former has been far less efficient of a shooter in the mid-range despite playing a far less of defensive league and lack of dominant shot blockers to challenge him at the rim (one less now that Gobert is on his team), as well as the lack killer instinct on defense. This is all despite playing with good teammates (KAT, Gobert, Conley, Reid, D'Angelo) compared to Jordan (Woolridge was the only positive Box Plus Minus player in MJ's first 4 seasons, which included the dominant rebounding Oakley). Edwards was amazing in the Suns series this year, but as the Nuggets and Mavericks have shown so far, he was helped by the Suns' absolutely dumpster fire of a defense.

Edwards' got that kind of game: a shooting guard that can jump and glide in the air, no fear to attack the paint and the center, the mid range .... a scorer. Mike was arguably the best offensive player, one of the best defensive players, best finisher at the rim, best post up player, best mid range shooter and had an unstopable move. The only thing he was average at was the 3 point shot. At the time he started taking more 3´s he shot 34% while league´s avg was 34%. Edwards on the other side shoots 35,5% from the 3 while league avg is at around 39%. SO we can throw that out of the window right now. But still, Edwards is an amazing player with enormously huge potential. Hope he stays healthy and can avoid any major injury.

I think we need to look at this from a different angle. The reason why Ant stands out is because noone in the league (for the last decade plus) has played the SG/SF spot with the aggressiveness that started with MJ (aside from near retirement Kobe). In saying that, let's start with comparing Ant to the list of "next Michael Jordan's" who were directly descended from MJ himself Harold Miner, Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, Jerry Stackhouse, to a certain extent Allen Iverson, Kobe, Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Dwayne Wade, Derrick Rose, etc. That's just off the top of my head. Who on that list does Ant knock off before everyone starts comparing him to MJ himself? Harold Miner? Maybe Stackhouse (he was a beast at one point) Coming from an oldhead, stop worrying about GOATS and comparing these guys to past players and just enjoy them for who they are....my 2 cents

Lots of players try to copycat MJ cuz he’s the GOAT. Normal to have similar moves. Maybe a DNA test will prove if there’s any other connection cuz a lot of people do see the physical looking similarities.

I think that anyone even with a very little knowledge can understand that the comparison is beyond ridiculous, anyone besides Shaq that is as he was trying to make the case with Charles, but there is no case, his style and attitude resembles MJ's but the comparison ends there, I love him and he gets me excited about the next 15 years of his career, but MJ was on another level at any point in hi career, yes he is a better 3 point shooter but let's not pretend that his 36% from 3 is so much impressive than MJ's 32,5% as MJ was an average 3 point shooter in his time as Ant is an average 3 point shooter in his, let's see him win 5 season mvp at least 8 scoring titles an 5 rings in the next 12 years while keeping this attitude and not turning on LeBlame and we will talk!!!!

Ant man is being dismantled by Pj Washington and Kyrie Irving. So…do put this pressure on his shoulders

No they are not the same. Jordan will always be better. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Some moves are similar but not as finesse as MJ. MJ has grace and smooth dunks, lay ups and stays longer in the AIR. To me, still not close to MJ

More comparable with Kevin Edwards who played with the New Jersey Nets.....

MJ and Kobe would lock down Luka. Luka is basically unguardable right now since we don't have players at the level of the two aforementioned any longer. Ant is very guardable. Honestly, Naz Reid might be the best player on the Wolves right now. With Ant, we see shades of MJ or Kobe like 1% of the time. But without consistency, it's little more than a gimmick at this point. Ant would have to get like 90% better to be anywhere near MJ.
