“Two corrections: 1. The Hero front glass is removable, but isn’t compatible with other GoPros and ND filters are not available. 2. The oversharpening and overexposing issue on the Ace Pro 2 was largely fixed in the last firmware update.

Remember-the HERO is entry level. Most people are interacting with their content on their phones. They are not editing on computers the way Creators/Vloggers like yourself are doing. Doing stabilization in the app allows us to keep the price point down for new entry level consumers. We love the Session too, but entry level consumers want a screen + entry level users want simplicity, that is why we have three basic modes on HERO.

Love your racing content, but it's hard as your viewer to take these heavily biased reviews seriously. Looking forward more to your "how to" maximize the camera on the bike videos, and other content that doesn't require a blatant bias in comparing a sponsored vs non-sponsored product. Circa Giant TCR vs Specialized Tarmac comparison videos :(

How-to is in the works. FYI insta360 asked me to talk about the features of their new camera, how I did it is up to me, this has no influence on my comparison or rating in any way. I'm just trying to find the best action camera for cyclists, which is why i compared it against my current favorite, the gopro mini 11 black. The TCR vs Tarmac video I did back in 2022 was unsponsored, i think people just wanted the underdog (TCR) to win, myself included 😅

While ride cameras are nice, I see more use to have the them as "dash cameras". Logging incidents, accidents and random stuff that might happen. So I hope your followup video mentions how they perform in that function and perhaps battery life if you want quality that is good enough to show the police (1080p 30fps?). Anyone spotted a good cheap option to put on the saddlebag?

I'm a little disappointed the DJI Osmo Action 4 wasn't mentioned. It's such an underrated action camera that has amazing battery life, audio, and quality! I've been using one for about six months strictly for cycling, and never had an issue. The mounting system is magnetic and easy to set up.

Comparing insta360's flagship to gopro's minis seems a little disingenuous. But they did sponsor it, so they have to win, right?

insta360 wanted me to talk about the features of their new camera, how i did it was completely up to me, just trying to find the best action camera for cyclists, which is why i compared it against my current fav the 11 mini. It won in some categories but don't forget it's 2x as expensive and I think i'll still grab the 11 mini for race day.

Going to have to agree. A better comparison would have been the new Go Pro Black and the Insta 360 Ace Pro. Honestly, it makes the new Go Pro Hero more enticing just because it lasts just as long as the Pro Ace and comes in at half the weight.
@AdamThygerson-lm1gt29 күн бұрын
@@meitou6174 yeah any reason he would not want to use a normal gopro for cycling would be the weight/size of the camera but he just compared the best of insta360 to budget gopros

Felt like an extremely bias video. Not comparing the similarly priced GoPro Hero 13 against the Ace-Pro is a miss. Makes this a pretty useless video for me. Did Insta360 ask you to make the comparison this way? Did they sponsor specifically for that? Or was this your own decision or bias? Am I missing something here?
@BigSexyCycling29 күн бұрын
I don't think you're missing anything. Go watch dcrainmaker's video on the camera.

I don’t have the 13. I compared it against the mini because like I mentioned in the intro it’s my favorite GoPro so far and I thought the new hero might be an even better small form factor replacement. Insta360 asked me to show off the features of their new camera. The rest of the video, like how I compared it and how I rated it was completely up to me
@raymondomahony633029 күн бұрын
@@NorCalCycling thanks for sharing. I think it just makes the video naturally uninteresting for me because the comparison no longer seems relevant. I think if the video was instead positioned as 'big cameras vs small cameras' or 'what does an extra $200 get you in a camera' that would be good. But instead it feels like a GoPro vs Insta360 comparison. Which it's not fairly..

@@NorCalCycling you might want to check out go pro labs and gyroflow then, can make the quality of the 11 mini way better in post production

interesting comparison, wouldn't even consider the bones. however, older models are ridiculous deals at even the quarter of the price. hard sell not to go with older gopros.

Feels like gopro are in the steps of enshittifying their product. less in the camera forcing greater app integration, i can totally see the potential to pull an adobe on this. Not that insta3 aren't doing the same or haven't, but gopro was the king! also holy crap that lens hanging out the corner looks way more at risk for something not replacable. boo.

looks like the comment i was about to make is exactly what everyone else has already said lol. next video should be comparing the gopro hero13 black against the insta360 Go to give the opposite side of this perspective ;) personally i think both companies make very high quality action cameras and have a variety of options to suit whatever type of filming you want to do. I own a hero11 black, an insta360 X2, and an insta360 Go. each camera has its own purpose and does certain things better than the other so its nice to have some variety in my arsenal to get the perfect shot. I always enjoy the content though!
@NorCalCycling29 күн бұрын
I'm realizing a lot of people want it compared to the 13 black 😅 if i decide to pick up the 13 black i'll share my thoughts, but tbh i wasn't excited about picking up another chunky action camera, which is why i compared it to the 11 mini, which is my current favorite gopro mostly because of its small form factor but amazing video quality.
@CRBenham2029 күн бұрын
@@NorCalCycling i still think this was a good informative video. your comparing a new camera to what you prefer and have been using for a long time from gopro. nothing wrong with that in my opinion. gopro has been the staple for a long time, but i think insta360 is really pushing to match them in the action camera space. they each have their own pros and cons with various models. I wish gopro could find a way to bring the quality and functionality of the mini back into the form factor of the old session model but that is a lot to ask in such a small package haha
@NorCalCycling29 күн бұрын
@@CRBenham20 I still have that gopro session 5, best form factor gopro of all time imo. It was sitting on my desk during that recording. I was trying to figure out a way to talk about it but the video quality and especially stabilization is just so much better nowadays. if they could take the ace pro 2 internals (or even the 11 mini) and put them in the session i'd easily pay $500+ for that camera
