Out of all the dying videos online,this is one the best..so to the point!...6 years old and still best ive seen...its so confusing dying nylon because MANY videos dont explain that you can dye nylon with the dye that you use for cotton..very few people realize that because nylon is a synthetic material so it doesnt seem to make sence..AND NO ONE TALKS ABOUT IT..I had to watch video after video to learn that..THANKS

Usually to re-dye jeans, how many grams of dylon dye do for 1 pair of jeans? Does 350g dylon make sense for 1 pair of jeans? or it's too much ? very happy if I get an answer from you im from indonesia

You would need two packs. One pack of dylon will dye about 226.796 grams of fabric.

You probably answers this already when you described rot dye being used for multiple fabrics But I have a pair of boots that is mostly made of cordura which I understand is like a tougher form of Nylon. I was wondering how would I dye something that tough without immersing it and would the dye even take to a fabric supposedly that tough?

Hi, if I was to mix two different shades (e.g. green) of Dylon would I have a third shade or would I end up with a marbled effect when I dyed my garment? I want to dye a wool blend top (80% wool/20% nylon) is Dylon hand dye a good product to use?

+Kayla Ray If it's made out of any synthetic material other than nylon, neither of these would work. But Rit will work on nylon, so that's your best bet if it's nylon. Salt for plant based fabrics like cotton and linen. Vinegar for protein based fabrics like wool and silk.

Rit Dye works on sheepskin! They recommend not adding salt to the dyebath. I'd be a little apprehensive about putting it in very hot water because there's a possibility it could be damaged. Rit says their dye works on Uggs so it should also work on shearling.

Hi, The Rit dye may be easier to use for a large item like this. Keep in mind that neither will completely cover the dark gray color, so the green or blue that you'll get will be very muted.

Worse they discontinue colours so no idea, I spent a lot of time trying to contact them. I would love to buy an electric blue dye that obviously exists but it seems it is only sold to clothing companies as I can't find one. Thinking the colour of the Italian football shirt.

Hi Flora, Rit dye works on nylon, so if the wig is nylon it would work, but otherwise neither of these would dye it. Hi Obioha, One isn't necessarily better than the other so it depends on which would work better for you. Rit dye in liquid form is easiest to mix, there are more colors, and it's widely used. Dylon dye is more colorfast and won't fade over time when washed. If you are not dying natural fibres it is useless but excellent on lots of items especially cotton and viscose
