Comparing Sodium Ion Battery V Solid State Battery for 2025! Elon Musk's Choice is....
===
00:53 What battery technology is establishing a new benchmark for electric vehicles: solid-state batteries or sodium-ion batteries?
08:02 The performance of these two types of batteries in different conditions will be as follows?
10:04 How do these two types of batteries affect the environment?
11:14 What challenges need to be addressed for these two types of batteries ?
===
Comparing Sodium Ion Battery V Solid State Battery for 2025! Elon Musk's Choice is.... People are slowly but surely embracing electric vehicles (EVs), yet the transition still needs to accelerate to achieve the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050. Despite numerous advancements in EVs, many drivers are still reluctant to depart from the convenience of gasoline-powered cars.
Comparing Sodium Ion Battery V Solid State Battery for 2025! Elon Musk's Choice is.... However, the emergence of two new types of batteries - sodium-ion and solid-state batteries - brings hope for a cost-effective and efficient solution, with projected manufacturing costs dropping to around 40 USD/kWh by the end of this decade. Solid-state batteries, with energy densities ranging from 400-500 Wh/kg and the ability to charge up to 80% capacity in 10-15 minutes, not only extend the driving range but also minimize charging time.
Comparing Sodium Ion Battery V Solid State Battery for 2025! Elon Musk's Choice is.... With these advancements, the question arises: Solid-state batteries or sodium-ion batteries, which will be the superior choice for a greener future?

I choose Sodium Ion Batteries due to the abundance of Sodium all over the world. They could use ocean water, by desalination, which could help two areas. The sodium would be used to create batteries or for use as a seasoning at home and the fresh water from desalination could be used to help places where fresh water is limited. Plus, with ice caps melting and rising levels in the world's oceans using sea water would combat rising sea levels. Everything has sodium in it, so it also helps with cost due to not having to import rare minerals from around the world when what you need is in your own backyard. Besides it's time for us to stop putting stress on our planet for our own conveniences.

So in the beginning of this vid it mentions net zero using electric cars. What do they think it takes in pollutant output just to make these including the battery's. I use tools and other things using batteries but that is for convenience more then anything.

No matter which way we end up going it will always be shorter than the life span of a ice engine before these batteries die and you will be up for a lot of coin to replace them .
@jjackson3240
@jjackson3240 Ай бұрын
Depends on one's driving habits. I've had ICE engines go bad at 100,000 miles. I am guessing batteries currently being installed in EV's are good for at least couple hundred thousand. I have some 18 year old LFP battery packs that still hold a decent charge from a Dewalt drill. Do I use the drill daily... no. On the other hand I do use it as often as I drive my car, once every week or two.

Mate you must have purchased a lemon 🍋 or your maintenance on that car/engine was either not done or done wrong . I've owned a lot of cars and travelled an lot of km"s in then over the years gee I've got an old 80 series here with 480k on the clock an still going strong as . Had many a petrol car that's also going strong with high 200k km"s as well . What these ev"s need will either be a battery pack replacement that allows a trade in of the old pack and a fitted replacement for around perhaps 2.5k - 3k tops that going to be needed when the car travels say around 200k km"s then they might be worth spending between 60 to 70k on a purchase
@jjackson3240
@jjackson3240 Ай бұрын
@@trevor8672 I agree with you. The point was to illustrate that ICE cars have their problems too. And it was a lemon. The old saying was check the build date. Don't buy if it was built on a Monday or a Friday. Monday workers had hangovers and Friday workers just wanted to get out the door. Most of my vehicles have lasted 150 to 200,000 miles. And my guess is that 5 to 8 years from now battery packs will be approaching the pricing range you suggest but maybe not quite there yet. On the other hand I think only luxury EVs will still be priced 60 to 70k range. With the way China and Elon are going I believe EV prices for us common folk will be as affordable as any ICE vehicle on the road. Thanks for your comment.
