Comparing Tektronix 2465B and 2467B oscilloscopes

Here I dispell the urban myth that electronic engineers have to sit in darkened rooms. Well they don't if they have a Micro-Channel Plate (MCP) oscilloscope anyway.
The Tektronix 2465B and 2467B are generally identical oscilloscopes, except for the screen (aka CRT, or cathode ray tube for the younger viewers).
The 2467B CRT uses MCP technology which allows the user to easily see very small repetitive but relatively infrequent pulses. The 2465B uses a conventional CRT.
The same applies when comparing the 2465A to the 2467, where the primary differentiator between the 2465A and 2467 models was the MCP CRT. (There was no 2467A).
The test shown uses a Jim Williams pulse generator which generates a 6ns pulse every 82us or so, a duty cycle of about 1:13,500.

I have a Tek 2467B in a perfect "like new" condition with under 2000 hours worktime. And this scope is simply wonderful. It is more a bellyful piece of art then a scope, actually.

Great information! I thought the 2467x has a timeout?

It does, it resets after each front panel adjustment to increase CRT life. The length of the timeout varies depending on trace intensity from about one to four minutes or so. I don't know how it can be adjusted or disabled. It can be a bit irritating at times!

I have the 1 GHz microchannel plate CRT 7104, but it's a beast compared with the 2467B. I almost always use my 485 instead. Is the 2467B heavy?

Okay I may be wrong but my understanding of the SGL SEQ function is to capture a single scan cycle so you can view it on the CRT .Now I can arm the trigger and the READY light is displayed I then trigger it by applying a pulse. The screen flashes and if you watch the crt carefully you can see it captures the scan the ready light goes off . At this point the screen is blank and remains blank. I have been through the manual and performed all test it passes all test. Am I wrong in assuming the data should be displayed ? If so what is the purpose of this I need to capture the very start of a pulse sequence The manual says the data is displayed after all scans have been triggered and the screen display's the data for photography purposes.
