Comparing the best F1 seasons in history in the modern point system (25-18-15) can help us put them into a better perspective.
In 2023 Max Verstappen won 19 out of 22 races dominating F1 like noone before. Even Michael Schumacher in 2004 and Sebastian Vettel in 2013 did not dominate this much when they set the previous record of most wins in a season with 13 Grand Prix each.
Going by the numbers, Verstappen's 2023 season surely was the most dominant performance in Formula 1 ever. But in the past seasons were shorter. If we apply the modern 25-18-15 point system (excluding Fastest Laps and Sprint Races) to all past seasons and compare them with Verstappen's season, does the Flying Dutchman really lead all the time? Or did some other F1 driver have a better start into the season? At what point does Verstappen take the lead? Let's find out!
At the end we also compare who scored the highest percentage of all available points in a season?
