So a run that would have: Simply's new strats and routing (BOB Koopa, HMC 100, DDD, TTC Reds), Liam's movement (he makes up for lost time of not doing chip-clip in DDD by his movement alone. Not to mention his BLJs.) And finally, Cheese's RNG (near perfect) and only a few significant time losses (BOB, HMC, DDD, RR). Would be the run that would go unbeaten for a very long time. Still could be improved, of course, but that's as good as could be expected.

@@chairman96 I'm thinking 1:37.2X Anything faster than that would have almost no significant time losses, and/or even more time saves that weren't listed here (WF and JRB cannonless, flyguyless in SSL, to name a few). While stringing together all the fastest strats may be expected in a WR, nobody should expect a run without a couple significant time losses in the 120 star run. You would basically have to have Simply's run up to Manta Ray, and then Cheese's run from Manta Ray to the end. I was careful to talk about expectation, not "possibility". It's possible, theoretically, to get a 1:36, but as of right now, nobody should expect it.

that’s an interesting comparison, i think you may be onto something. although i think i have the opposite definitions of GOAT and BOAT. IMO Greatest is Cheese/Armada given their dominance over a long period of time and their overall impact on the game. BOAT would be Simply/mang0 given their constantly improving and very broad skillset and their ability to beat anyone any day of the week. (not sure if you’re a bball fan, but i think Jordan is the GOAT and LeBron is the BOAT).

Over the course of the 3 stars and 2 entries (100, reds and Koopa), Cheese saved 0.28 seconds over Liam, saved 15.72 seconds over Simply (obviously we'll ignore that due to meltdown), but lost 0.95 seconds to Batora. It would look like it's a comfortable time save if you only check the star times, but for each of the 2 entries, Cheese's route loses around 2.7 seconds, 5.4 total, to having to enter the Huge island each time rather than Tiny. Cheese and Batora both had relatively solid times whereas Liam's 100 was a little messy at the start and a bit later with swimming on the beach after the ground pound. So in my opinion, the switch in route doesn't seem worth it, especially considering the greater RNG involved with the goombas in the wind.
