No one asked and I'm not trying to shit on Simply's sponsorship. BUT if anyone was wondering what the "Gold Split" PC would cost you to build, the answer (at the time of writing this comment around 2 AM CDT on March 17th, 2022, in the US, using no resources other than pcpartpicker) is probably around $2250 (before tax anyway). I know that's a lot of qualifiers, but I think they're necessary. Prices are crazy volatile right now. I made a few improvements in my "build", namely made it a 360mm AIO instead of a 240mm (totally unnecessary for a 5800X, but I'm proving a point), have the Cooler Master TD500 for the case, have a 1 TB NVMe SSD that's also PCIe gen 4 (so roughly twice as fast as what they advertise on top of having twice the space), and have some RAM (still 3600) with some really tight timings on it (14-14-14-34, if you care). Total cost with all those improvements: $2430.34. This will change, but that's a savings of about $430 even with some upgrades. If you don't need any of the upgrades I mentioned and it's worth in excess of $400 to you to not have to worry about it, by all means, go for it! I'm not saying not to do it, just trying to educate people who may not know anything about PC parts. If you want to see the list of components I made, comment and I'll find a way to get it to you. So i know PCs pretty damn well. And im going to be 100% honest. Their website A. Not very good. Their hardware, not very good. And the price for that hardware, is also not very good. The fact they have an AIO cooler for the CPU and think that a 4-6 hour session needs a different model than a 6-12 hour session is mind blowing. Heat soak is a thing, you hit thermal stability within like .. way under an hour playing the same game for that time. Thats poor poor marketing to idiots. The CPU determines that and if you are OCing not how long youre playing... And its worse when you look and see the 240mm for the cheap pc says 6-12, but the same cooler for the BIGGER CPU ON THE 3K PC SAYS 24hrs+ The 500 GB SD for 4-6 games ?!?!?!? Like 4-6 AAA 80-100GB games maybe. And wtf are those no name generic brands at that price wtf? No NVME options unless you pick the higher tier? These guys legit look like they are praying on people who dont know better. There is no info on the case, how many is full front and back case fans if i dont know the case or what full actually means? What is apex extreme overclocking? are they just gonna turn on XMP OH WAIT THERE IS NO INTEL OPTIONS for the main prebuilts Do not get me started on the not pre built options and their "gaming PCs" tab with those complete cash soaks. 2k PC called the APEX PLATINUM...
