When you can KZbin those documentaries on each movie? Just sayin lol. What appeals to me about the 15 disc is the artwork only. The ONLY way I'm gonna pay 300 bucks on something Halloween related is a mask from cemetery gate productions or the upcoming H40 convention in Pasadena

Great video, Christian! In my opinion, if you are a massive horror and Halloween fan, than I highly recommend the deluxe edition. But for the casual fan who just want to own the movies, the 10-disc set is the way to go.

I think a lot of people have picked up the 10-disc set because it might sit a bit better on the shelf. I also mostly only saw the 10 disc set being offered in stores like Best Buy. I personally have the 15-disc set because Halloween is my favorite horror franchise of all time so the 15 disc set was a no brainer for me.

Even though I own all the Shout Factory 4K releases, I’ll never part with my 15 disc blu-Ray box set. It’s becoming a collector item in the horror community. I chose that set years ago because I loved having the classic artwork on the individual discs as well as having two versions of parts 1, 2, and 6.

Great comparison! I have the 15-disc set. I got it 3 years ago when it was on sale for a little over $100 with shipping. Around $10 per movie (on Blu-Ray!) plus a massive load of bonus features, a cool book, and a cool box case. I'm definitely a fan of the separate boxes for each movie. I don't care about how much space the set takes up. I was on a budget then but I made sure to get the big set. There are two minor issues I have with the set though. One is that the TV version of H1 and the Theatrical versions of Rob Zombie's H1 and H2 aren't included. I think they are the superior versions of the RZ movies. The other is that the bonus disc doesn't have it's own case; it's in the RZH2 case. Why couldn't there just be an extra case for it? I get that 10 cases is a lot, but one more wouldn't be too bad. The DVD set for A Nightmare on Elm Street from 1999 had a separate case for the bonus disc (granted there are only 7 movies in that set though). Prior to owning the Blu-Ray set, I had all 10 movies on DVD (including a bootleg H6 Producer's Cut and both Theatrical and Unrated RZ movies). I still have all the DVDs and I bought the separate Blu-Ray of the H6PC. I'm really glad I got the 15-disc set when I did because soon after that, the price skyrocketed. A die-hard Halloween fan should pick up the big set, but budgeted and casual fans would be fine with the small set. In addition just buy the TV version of H1 and the Theatrical versions of RZ's movies and the Blu-Ray of the H6PC and that's a complete collection for a much cheaper price.

Nice update, Nick. Back the the Future is a classic. Cats Eye is good fun, I have the Umbrella Blu ray. Can't wait to get the Halloween 6 Blu ray, it looks awesome. I need to re-watch Behind the Mask, cause I wasn't a fan when I saw it years ago and havn't seen it since. Wow, great find on Terror Train, its OOP and the esp with the slip, its hard to find. Late Phases is really good and its unique and I'd say the quote is pretty spot on. Bird With The Crystal Plumage is alright, but not a favourite from Argento. I need to get that Tales from the Crypt set, as I don't think think I've seen the show.

Can someone tell me if that 10 disc sets copy of H20 is the proper 2:34:1 aspect ratio as opposed to the original blu rays 1:78:1 aspect ratio? When you watch the version on the 10 disc set, does it have big black bars on the top and bottom of the screen or does it fill most of the tv?

I missed out on the 15 set cause as usual I was on a tight budget. An fye store was closing down so everything was marked down significantly and they had the 10 disc set and my wife jus happened to have a coupon from fye, I can't remember how much it was worth so I got the set for just a couple of bucks. Man what steal! I was happy with the set, and still have it! I still would love to get the 15 disc set. But with the new Friday the 13th set that was just announced, I did not hesitate, I got in my pre-order!

Great video! Can I ask what region they come in? I'm from the UK and I spent hardcore cash getting a multi-region bluray player so I can buy US editions (which, frankly, tend to be a lot better) but only some US blus play on it! Are they region-free? Some Region A discs play on my player but some don't! It's really annoying!

But, had the Zombies films not been included I probably could have convinced myself to get it. Though I picked up the FYE exclusive steel book for 1 and the steel book for 2 as well. The original 15 disc set is much better. It has virtually everything you could want if you're a fan of the series. Just too bad it is now out of print and costs a fortune. It's going for 260 dollars on Amazon now. I am so glad I got back in 2015 when it was still in print. I think I paid 70 or 80 for it. I just wish I had gotten the similar Friday the 13th Bluray set. It is now also out of print and costs a pretty penny. Big mistake on my part. :(

There is also a rough cut "workprint" of the curse of Michael Myers which includes a few extra scenes. And another cut which include just a few seconds of gore that was cut from the theatrical cut and a alternate soundtrack.

Lionsgate actually released the Producers Cut version on a separate release, its sold at Bestbuy, Amazon wherever for around 8 bucks. Also i believe the 15 disc set is OOP now

Halloween series ranked! ---------------------------- (Warning: my list is extremely unique and weird to most Halloween fans, please respect my opinions and try to leave nice reply’s) ------------------------ 12. ‘Hallloween: ‘The Revenge Of Michael Myers’ (1989) (The only one in the series I never really got into, I really love all the stuff with Dr. Loomis & Michael, but this one completely takes a different turn in what the ending of Halloween 4 was trying to make it out to be.) ------------------------ 11. ‘Halloween Resurrection’ (2002) The opening to this scene is insulting, especially after you watch Halloween H20, they make it to where it didn’t even matter. But the fun aspect if you just skip past that part and watch the rest keep this from my worst one in the series.) ------------------------ 10. ‘Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers’ (1995) (Nice concept but incompleted story line, love Dr. Loomis’s performance and I love how Beth is played by: ‘Mariah O'Brien.’ I love her performance, she’s the girl on the cover of the album: ‘Dirt’ (1992) by one of my favorite bands of all time: ‘Alice In Chains.’ ------------------------ 9. ‘Halloween 4: ‘The Return of Michael Myers’ (1988) (This is a fun one to watch in the series but it leads to 5 & 6 which we’re not that good in my opinion.) ------------------------ 8. ‘Halloween Kills’ (2021) (Holy Shit, the gore in the movie was UNBELIEVABLE, this is the goriest Halloween movie along with: ‘Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2’ I mean DAMN. But anyway, it felt so bad@$$ in this film the way the suspense came about and that Suicide scene…. Man that was uncomfortable. I think this is the most philosophical Halloween movie in the series. The ending is SO awesome, I can’t wait till ‘Halloween: Ends’ in 2022. It’s not a bad film I’d say.) ------------------------ 7. Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later’ (1998) (Jamie Lee Curtis portrayal of Laurie Strode is SO BAD@$$ up until that final moment when she cut off his head. People were clapping back in 1998 when they first saw that in the theater. It was amazing. I really hope she becomes this badass in Halloween End’s in 2022.) ------------------------ 6. ‘Halloween Returns’ (2018) (This one took a while for me to grow up too, but I actually really think it’s one of the best Halloween Sequels along with the original ‘Halloween 2’ and Halloween H20.) ------------------------ 5. ‘Halloween 3: Season Of The Witch’ (1982) (Now this one is SOOO underrated even to this day, it legit feels like a late1970’s/early1980’s horror film directed by John Carpenter and Debra Hill in the same vein as the original Halloween, the musical score just SCREAM’S John Carpenter to me, and the old cheesy 1970’s/1980’s feel to it totally brings me back and it’s so entertaining to watch. Plus the concept they used to me is extremely original and creepy.) ------------------------ 4. ‘Halloween II’ (1981) (Okay so this one, I’d put right there beside the original cause this film along with the original 1978 Halloween feel like the exact same movie with just a little more gore envolved. Plus it ended the series officially with Michael Myers & Dr. Loomis dying in the explosion at the end and Laurie Strode Surviving.) ------------------------ 3. ‘Rob Zombie Halloween’ (2007) (I’m actually a big fan of Rob Zombie Halloween series and it’s universe, I like how he went to show Michael Myers childhood and it kinda really doesn’t explain really why he becomes this unstoppable killer nor does it keep it mysterious, it falls in the middle, The first 30 minutes of the film are pretty uncomfortable to watch especially if your watching with a bunch of people. Plus it gets pretty depressing by the time Deborah Myers (Michael Myers Mother) kills herself with a hand-gun. But from the moment Michael Myers breaks out and kills Danny Trejo’s character till the very end,, it gets so entertaining to watch, it gives me that entertaining vibe of what the original John Carpenter classic had. Michael was very pissed in Halloween II 2009. His kills were just straight brutal. Halloween 6 Michael is another one, very pissed and brutal. But 1978 and II 1981 were just Michael was pissed and wanted to kill to feel the thrill of what he did on the night of Halloween 31, 1963.

The only Halloween films I have as of now are The Curse of Michael Myers, H20 and Resurrection in a 3-pack collection. I have ordered the first five Halloween films and I will eventually get the Rob Zombie Halloween and Halloween 2018.
