Most people won't say it, but Odyssey it's perfect. I only spent 70 hours to the game and I go by half the mainstory (without counting with the dlcs). It's the best one to spend time with.

Origins all the way. Great characters, great settings, interesting villains, down to earth storyline (you aren't some god with magical powers, but are instead just random dude), not too long, and map is unique with interesting biomes + gameplay filled with various details. Odyssey felt like prototype for Fenyx rising, and Valhalla felt like it didn't know what it wants and was too long

I'm the type of guy who really cares about the story and I always play the game even if it's boring just to finish the story but this game's story was so boring that I stopped playing. (I still can't choose the better game between ac Odyssey and Valhalla cuz Valhalla is boring and Odyssey has no assassination so I think it's hardly an ac game)

Odyssey is my favorite among all AC. I mean, it's ancient Greece brought to lfe, the cornerstone of most of western human society. Plus the story is, as it says, an odyssey you go through on land and sea, meeting all kinds of historical figures and landmarks. It's just a chunk full game for history nerds. The choices you make feels like they have the most impact between all three games and the music is transcendent.

I liked Origin the most, Egypt as a location just feels the most transcendental and beautiful , i had several WOW moments while exploring and i love the lighting in the game- the way the sand turns orange during sunset, the sand dunes enveloping the sky and the shafts of golden light reflecting on the water, it's atmospherically the most immersive and to me impressive. Origin also has the best story out of the three in my opinion . Odyssey was probably the one i liked the least. The story didn't really interest me as much and i found it hard to finish because i kept losing interest. I'm not as interested in ancient Greece as i am in ancient Egypt so that probably played a part in it as well

Easily Valhalla I’ve always been fascinated by the vikinger and getting to explore my own country as it was during the 9th century. The story was also surprisingly good definitely the most underrated story in assassin’s creed and the dlc’s are top notch. However I am a huge history and games nerd so all assassins creed games are a joy for me to play!

I don’t know about you but I prefer the simplicity of the combat system in origins over Odyssey’s combat system, sure Odyssey was fun and had some really cool moves but the combat in origins felt more fluid and you actually struggle a bit rather than being a demi god and smiting all your enemies.

Truth i love all 3 of them i played them all and continue to this day im very intrested in ancient history but also in the viking age in the early middle ages if i would have to make a list 1 valhalla (love the combat and weapon options and love that you have your own home in the world) 2 origins ancient egypt great setting great map a bit dry in the end when the story is done but if you really like ancient egypt your gone continue to enjoy it 3 odyssey again great setting love the naval combat great armor options but sometimes really to much aslo no shield ? In ancient greek warfare? And also combat feels a bit cartoonish compared to origins and valhalla

Valhalla is not an RPG. Not sure if you played it yet, but I would keep that in mind. It pales compared to Odyssey in that manner. It's nurfed beyond belief.

After a long time I want to get lost in an Assassin creed game again. In the meantime, the latest parts have received next gen patches. Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla are still breathtakingly beautiful. But which of the 3 parts Origins (in ancient Egypt), Odyssey (ancient Greece) or Valhalla (Viking Theme) should i spend my rare time with? I played them all back then. Is the most new automatically the best? In My eyes all 3 games are very different and the most new is not the best by default here. I have a different opinion. Origins is the only game out of the 3 games that still feels like a classic Assassin game. Sneaking, assassinations, the close camera All the time, Animations are not too cartoony or arcade. It is still a serious game. No god like Power attacks etc etc. Storywise the best by far, no wonder, it tells the origin story of all assassins. There are still real cities, not just small settlements or dozens of Green isles. Yes, with origins u still get some Assassin CREED vibes and it is as beautiful and modern as the other ones. While Viking has nice finishers, combat seems arcade, less realistic. Raiding villages, burning down is great for roleplaying vikings, but this is not assassin creed anymore.. The world is beautiful, but extremely lifeless and boring. More of the same, all the time. Viking feeling yes, but ASSASSIN creed feeling doesn't come up here and doing always the same thing (raiding villages) gets boring quickly. Odyssey also has little real Assassin story or feel, lost in beautiful ancient Greece. Beautiful islands, lots of Islands... and a lot of forts to conquer. For my part, I think the atmosphere and gameplay in Origins is still the best and closest to the assassin storyline of former games. You can see the insane work on the country and the people in origins . The games released after origins, located in different time settings, moved further and further away from the AC spirit. These games are no assassin games anymore in my eyes but Nice Action rpgs nevertheless.

I came back to this series with Mirage. Admittedly, a small game, with small map, short story, and lacking the world building of its predecessors, however, a solid stealth game, that ticked all my boxes. Then, i got ghost of Tsushima. And it spoiled me for a solid two months. I don’t game every day, but i became obsessed with this game. Stealth was perfect. Combat was perfect. Story was immense. The world was just the right size for the story being told. So, after this, i decided to go back and see what origins would do for me. While not an RPG player, i relented, and sunk my teeth into origins regardless. Many parts of the story are amazing. Currently at level 36, I’m only halfway through the main story, as exploration is the most fun for me, personally. You can use a degree of stealth in this game, however the NPC detection is silly. You are spotted incredibly easy, and it takes me out of the game. I guess one could say it adds to the realism, but i live life. I don’t need to live life in video games. I prefer a little fantasy. A little more fun, instead of real-world immersion. The biggest downside to Origin is that it can drag. In order to get to a satisfying level where stealth and combat are enjoyable, expect many hours of fetch-questing and endless hunting in order to level up to an appropriate ability. It reminds me of the Ghost Recon series- wildlands and breakpoint-where endless looting is the only way to truly enjoy the game. Myself, I’m an Ezio/Sam Fisher kind of guy. I want all the toys. I want to be Batman at the start of the game. Origins, like mirage, takes you forever just to get the toys that make the game so much fun to play!! The upside to a game like Ghost of Tsushima, while it did take progression to achieve all the skills and toys, by mid point, the character had formidable skills, both in stealth play and combat. I’m hopeful the next chapter in the AC franchise, codename:red, will expand upon the fun, stealth of mirage, take notes from the frenetic swordplay and combat of Ghost, and give us the toys, weapons and variety of origins, ghost and mirage, in one fantastic package…

nice review! I loved Origins! Odyssey was good but It felt too repetitive to finish, and the map just overwhelmed me. i didn't want to finish it because the content just kept feeling copy/paste. Other than that i liked the game and I would probably revisit it one day. Origins had a perfect setting - I would love to revisit that game especially if they made an update to update the combat to the newer style of combat in the new games... That would be awesome. Anyways, I have yet to play Valhalla but I'm tempted to get it now

I'd have to say it's a toss up between Origins and Valhalla. Odyssey was cool, but it got old quicker than the others. Origins had me shitting my pants with anticipation as soon as I heard that it was based in ancient Egypt, and I had the same level of anticipation when I heard of a Viking theme. Both ancient Egyptian and Viking lore have always been very interesting to me. Valhalla has better graphics, but that should be expected since it the latest in the series, and definitely improved the combat system that Origins started, but Origins ran much smoother. Valhalla had a rough and buggy launch. However, non-relevant to this video, I am an OG AC enthusiast (means I like the old combat system and overall feel more) and Black Flag reigns supreme to me. Best theme in the series IMO, and again, second place might have to be a tie between Origins and Valhalla.

Black Flag first, then Origins if you have it, then Odyssey. Valhalla if you have it but if not don't bother unless you can get it for free or really cheap. It's not actually an RPG like Origins (barely) or Odyssey and pales in comparison to the first three in gameplay (IMO).

If that is your experience, you should probably try it again and pay attention to your build. It's a true RPG in that manner and is not dumbed down like Valhalla, which can be beaten with a naked(no armor) PC. In Odyssey I can 2-3 hit for the most part till L20 and then 1 hit basic enemies from that point on. By 60-80 I can 1 or 2 hit Mercenaries with assassin abilities.

I love Assassin's Creed Valhalla but no AC game will ever top Assassin's Creed Origins. From Bayek, to the graphics, to the gameplay, to the music, to the story its really not a comparison. Also in Origins, the enemies have their level number over there head whereas Valhalla it display a red skull. After Origins I didn't even play Odyssey, It took me years to play another AC game after Origins. Its just that great of a game.

I love the newer games because of their larger worlds ! But I hate the newer combat sysytem ! I been playing ac games since the first one ! And I prefer the older combat system ! Even though odyssey is my favorite ac game ! I think That one has the worst combat of all the ac games ! I really don’t like it after hundreds of hours on odyssey , but I love the story and open world and even the way they copied the nemesis system into it from the shadow of war game series ! It’s just a personal preference of mine . I know some people love the newer combat ! So I understand that it’s a upgrade for many ! But to me , I will always prefer the older combat system !

I just started playing Origins again, and playing it has made me realize how much I actually enjoyed Valhalla. I never liked how the "Assassin" part of Assassin's Creed was pretty much nerfed in Origins and abolished in Odyssey. The hidden blade only killed enemies that were near your level, and I didn't like that. Valhalla was the game that tried becoming a return to form, and honestly, I enjoyed it for that. You could go to an area with enemies 50 levels higher than you, and stealth kill them all if you were good enough. I also think Valhalla has the best exploration. Ever since Breath of The Wild, I have found exploration in open world games to be harder to enioy as I just don't like having a mini map or being told *exactly* where to go. I realized I could turn those options off in Valhalla and decided to try it out when I started getting tired of it. The game clearly took huge inspiration from Breath of The Wild's design philosophy, as the main quest is designed not only to be played out of order but important locations can be found easily in the distance by looking for groups of ravens in the sky. Side quests as well as main quests are also designed around you *reading your map,* as each one described where you need to go in order to continue the quest. This makes it so that when you discover something new that it feels rewarding and gives off a similar kind of "Aha!" moment that I would get from Breath of The Wild. I give Valhalla my personal vote for those, as well as other reasons.

I use assassination in Odyssey as my main attack. Anyone that says it does not exist or work has no idea how to play the game. It you spec right it will one hit kill about any enemy 90% of the time in the early game and 100% of the time after level 70. Pay attention to your build! All the crying and bitching about having to make an effort in building a character in Odyssey is what got us this dumbed down, garbage story, crap mini-game, locked door, rinse and repeat bloated poor excuse for a game that was Valhalla. I can't wait until this path Ubi is on puts them out of their misery. It will be well deserved for listening to about 5-7% of their playerbase.

I liked all 3 games but Ubisoft could’ve done way better instead of clustering the shit out of the games with silly things they could’ve done better combat animations better parkour options and better assassinations. Valhallas combat wasn’t the most satisfying as it barely works the enemies are way less aggressive don’t attack as often and are overall dumber with hitboxes being very weird at times.

First issue I have is 'Each game did build on the mechanics of it's previous entry.' This is utterly false. Odyssey did build on Origins, but Valhalla took all that was good in both it's predecessors and either dropped it entirely or made it suck. Valhalla feels like it was the first of the new games, not the latest. It was worse in graphics, worse in story, had mini games that should have had a toggle switch to make them disappear, had no meaningful loot or gear system, mind numbing locked doors that barbarians should have just been able to kick in/open, and side content masked as the main game to bloat a story that took about 30 minutes to tell called: Basim is actually the antagonist and wins - The End.
