I believe Olight also fixed the memory such that it will stay on high no matter how long it’s off if that is the last mode you had it in. The pl3 would remember high but only for a few minutes before defaulting back to low.
@k4vms Жыл бұрын
The older lights also have an adjustable clamp where you can adjust how it fits on you firearms. I believe the older clamp is a superior locking device especially since you can no longer replace the batteries. If your out and the batteries go dead your only option is to swap lights, well trying do that with the newer light where with the older light you can do this in the dark even with your eyes closed very quickly no so with this new screw down and you really need to tighten it with a coin so you do not loose the light. Sounds like you have never ridden in a patrol car at night or gone in to a dark building doing a search. Ricky from IBM
@BigBear-- Жыл бұрын
How does that not make sense to you? You just said it yourself, if the light goes dead I can swap batteries and be back up and running in a minute or less. If the rechargeable light goes dead, I gotta run home to charge it...which if you're in the middle of a search, in the woods, or anywhere else not near a charger, you're screwed.

Many claims have been made and most users have never trained or use them extensively. You can see many Olight reviews and they dont use them or just disappears from their collections. 2 fails for me is enough. You said this is an integrated non-removable battery. To me that just means this is a future paper weight. Batteries have a finite lifespan. They will fail. 3 or 5 years down the road, maybe more depending on use, when the battery fails to take a charge, but the rest of the light works, you're stuck with buying a brand new light. I will pass on this.
@tattoochef Жыл бұрын
Most cell phones are the same way. Integrated batteries that can't be changed.
@HarleyWood23 Жыл бұрын
@tattoo. Exactly. And people pay thousand for those, and upgrade every two years, but complain about a $100 light. 🤷🏼♂️
@pastrocks85 Жыл бұрын
Seriously… I just got mine for $80… I’m sure before the battery actually dies, they’ll be a new better light that that I’ll upgrade to.
@BigBear-- Жыл бұрын
Dude 3 to 5 years down the road there will be much better lights to upgrade to, and that'll be waaaay before the batteries die in your current light. However if you do plan on only buying one light for the rest of your life, Olight does offer tactical lights with replaceable batteries. Just get the PL-3, or something similar.

@HarleyWood yeah I don't understand the issue. Pay 1000 bucks for a phone ok.....80 bucks for a light...OH MY GOD NO!. makes no sense

@winstonsmiths2449 Жыл бұрын
All the machinations of the light companies is such a scam. The user interfaces used by ALL of the mfgs, are crippled or at least extremely limited on purpose. As Anduril I and II have proven, you can tailor a light to do just about anything, including the temperature at which a step down occurs. There is NO reason that this light (and all others) cannot be programmed by the user, to have various high and low settings. ZERO reasons for not designing this into the lights. Oh, silly me. Sales, of course! But pimps gotta' pimp the product, and O.F. bois gonna buy the product. Part of the need to belong, identify with an "in" crowd (Surefire users). I own about 6 Olight WML, but will be phasing them out for Streamlights, at least on my primary firearms. Will pass the others along as time progresses. Great value with good feature, but that damn recharging cable being pushed as a feature is not! That means I have to carry a normal USB C cable and one or two Olight magnetic charging cables two recharge various devices. Olight had the genius idea of changing the polarity of the charging cable for newer lights, Old cables cannot be used interchangeably.
