TFA itself unfortunately doesn’t get much love despite being the origin of the “transform and rise up” quote. It’s more appreciated than it was before but still far from being up there in popularity. Naturally, Corey Burton’s performance there is overlooked as well

Frank and David are classics, and Bryan is great as a modern Megatron, but Corey did so well for the type of Megs Animated had. He hits the big bully vibe perfectly, and i wish he had more roles as Megs just to see his range outside of bully. And Rory does really good as a more gentle, friendly Megs whos trying to reform after the war

Like Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime, Frank Welker as Megatron gives every Transformers project the G1 feel. If Transformers G1 was voice recorded by Ocean Studios, Gary Chalk would've been a 1-man army as both Prime & Megatron. Also, with David Kaye, some of the lines came from the 🎮 version because, like Gary Chalk, it felt more natural than the Japanese shows.

Jon Bailey does a pretty good G1 impression. I could see him being used for any G1-related works in the future once Frank is no longer able to do the honor. I'm amazed at how Richard sounds almost exactly like David's BW/Armada Megatron. Was surprised to see so many different actors, given it's usually Welker, Kaye, Burton, Weaving, and now Henry who get talked about a lot.

So many voices treat Megatron as a Dandy, an underling or as some random commander facing Optimus. This while Megatron is a raw, angry, ruthless emperor and a sworn brother and equal of Optimus, someone he both respects and despises. Welker's OG G1 Megatron would hate and murder any of the dandy Megatrons for being weak and not taking the position of supreme leader of all Cybertronians serious and would kill off all those that didn't take Prime serious.

That might be because it technically isn't Megatron. In the original Japanese sub, he's called Gigatron and upgrades to Devil Gigatron. His names were changed to Megatron/Galvatron for the dub because they were more recognizable by Transformers fans.
