Hmm, I'mma hafta go with the guy who's done the voice the longest. Maybe I'm a bit biased but I can at least say I didn't hear his voice in the role first but when I THINK about his voice now there is only one. Hell, when the DMC5SE trailer dropped in the PS5 showcase and I heard those first two words I IMMEDIATELY knew who it was and that's super important for characters.

I know Daniel Southworth had a cold when he originally performed Vergil, which he wasn't able to reproduce in later recordings, but it sounds like he took measures to block his nose for DMC5. I appreciate that commitment to character, because it's Vergil's nasalness that really sells the character for me.
