I can't decide... I think I would buy the style depending on the person I was buying for. If for me... it would be the alcohol ink method. Hmmm... guess I made a decision. Lol😊

Both are beautiful!! I would love to see a more apples to apples comparison. On the mica side, you mixed the mica with the resin. I'd like to see you do the same as the alcohol ink side. Put clear resin on; then add drops of aqua mica/resin mixture. Then add the white the exact same way you did on the alcohol ink side. Drops not lines.Then apply the heat gun. I'm wondering if then they would look a lot more similar. My guess is that they would but the mica side would have a beautiful shimmer to it. Also does the heat gun not pop the air bubbles? It would be easier to see the effects if the pool noodles weren't so similar in color to the design. With not covering the whole glass does the resin level out completely or is it bumpy once dry? Love your artworks!

very good ideas! I agree about the pool noodle. Maybe I could wrap with a paper towel. Yes, the heat gun does pop bubbles,and sometimes that’s all I do with it. When I apply the resin uneven.y like this, it leaves a great texture to the design. You should try it!

I may have missed how you prep the wine glasses. Do you sand them at all...is it necessary? Do you just wipe them down with alcohol?
@ACoastalMagnolia3 ай бұрын
just wipe them down!

Do you have tape between your pool noodle and the glass? I always have a fit issue on mine and they tend to slip.
@ACoastalMagnolia3 ай бұрын
Sometimes I use small pieces of a cut up pool noodle as spacers in the glass to make them fit.

Beautiful work! Every time I try this, the liquidity split hardens up before I am done. Any tips?

Thank you! If it’s cold where you are, try putting your bottles in warm water before mixing. I also use my heat gun to warm the resin prior to using the alcohol ink. You really have to work fast!

Thanks for your reply. I live in the Jacksonville florida area, but it has been chilly. I guess I just don't work fast enough.

Both are beautiful but the alcohol ink looks more ocean like. I keep reading that alcohol ink eventually fades so I’m scared to use it. Have you experienced this and how long have you used alcohol ink? Thanks again for the video
@ACoastalMagnolia10 ай бұрын
They can fade over time, but it depends on so many factors, such as exposure to sunlight. I have beeen using alcohol inks this way for 3 years, and the wine glasses as as vibrant as they were when I made them!

It would sure be easier to see if you were to wrap the foam in some white paper before putting it into the glass. With the foam the same colour as your resin it is difficult to see what’s happening.
