Well done James on another brilliant video, very thoughtful idea about the tractors for the children to win one. It was surprising to see the difference in the drills and the crop establishment .

Another great update James. Interesting to hear you talking about the new houses you are building. That's good for your employees having a nice home and another asset on the farm. I really liked the talk and drone footage of the drilling, you will be explaining CTF to Michael afterwards. Lovely poem written, great idea for the competition, I guess like me you grew up with the Britain's line up of farm machinery, I still have mine from the late 70's and 80's.

Great video James and a awesome idea for the children to write poems, and win a great model of a Fendt and the details on the new models is incredible,to what I had when I was a youngest, and there’s quite a difference in the different seeders and stands out even more,with it being on one field and looking forward,to the next update if Michael can be bothered and get wet 😂👍👍

Its fantastic to see a farmer building housing for their staff. One place i worked had enough housing for 10x more than their staff, but they wanted the staff in caravans.
@oliverelliott4453Ай бұрын
@JamesMartin-f8n if you have had a house for years so you are at a point where you can retire you have done well. I'm living in a drafty caravan living on my half brothers dad's land where I can't even put up a fance to separate the farm from where I live and I'm paying several hundreds a month and I own the caravan

Not everyone can do it but i known a couple of workers that lived in tied houses during their working lives but bought a house/ bungalow elsewhere and let the property which covered the mortgage at the time. It gave them excellent house security for their retirement..@JamesMartin-f8n

@@oliverelliott4453@oliverelliott4453 I would not stand for that, Oliver. Not me, Oliver, but my uncle and late father. My Father worked on a farm for 54 years, and my uncle for around 45 years. We have done ok with my rent/mum. But my uncle is paying £995.00 per month. The old metal-framed windows are still used for a three-bedroom house with no double glazing, and there is no central heating. Apart from a Rayburn in the kitchen only. So I would say never take a farm cottage or anything like that with a farm job.

James, there's a big focus on mental health within the rural sector's currently. firstly where does your drive/enthusiasm to optimise everything the way you do and tackle everything head on come from. And secondly How do you mentally sustain/manage that level of enthusiasm for what you do. Are there ever gloomy days when you don't want to be there.

1st class video once again. Seeing as cousin Michael can't get wet, will you be videoing the handing over of his Christmas present ( A PX umbrella ) lol. Nothing new in a builders merchant supplying quantities from drawings, Keyline / Travis Perkins did mine 15 years ago. Found Jewson to be too expensive and of course Jewson is not a British company, French and now Danish apparently.

May I suggest that if a young person writes the poems, that they could be placed on the trucks/trailers to tractors, for the year? To show how much farming means to people.
